Tried the 8.8.8.8 DNS change didn't work. 
Got a bit excited when the 1.1.1.1 seemed to work....
But no, what had downloaded pixelated and froze 20 mins in 😔

Personally I feel Sky dont give a toss 😞   

Years ago before HD was rolled out the normal TV pictures got worst and worst and then HD started did they do this to force you into HD belive what you wish .

Ultra started normal HD picture is not as good forcing you to Ultra ( never) 

Now Sky would love you to have all their products and funny we are having the same problem "Its not our box its the BB provider"   yeh right 

Think how many older people or people who are not techie nerds trying to just watch tv and get all the functions from their box without having to "Nerd It Up" by changing settings that they do not understand and then screw it up and guess what you need an engineer Ker Ching .

Any wat just ordered 25M of Heavey duty Cat6 cable and will hard wire it cannot be bothered with all this **bleep**ing around

I am getting the same problem. I can't download anything from the TV guide or on demand.  DL starts gets to 1% and then stops with the message: "failed, item unavailable" what is wrong with this? I've tried lots of different programmes in cinema, on demand and just plain next show as I'm watching another, all the same infuriating result.

I've asked the box to record a programme an hour away in the TV guide and still it doesn't record!

I've restarted the box twice and still no change, this makes having a Q box pointless right now and it's not like this stuff is cheap.

Not being able to record is a completely different issue. I suggest you call Sky as you have something wrong with your box. It may need to be swapped.

I have tried the software update but it not worked for me,

If you try to update the software again what happens? It shouldn't let you if it's up to date,  it maybe you're a couple of versions behind?

Our box is happily downloading everything on demand still (downloaded a few bits this morning) so I'd hoped that would be the solution 😞

@ep82 If I were you, I would set everything back to automatic and then reboot the box (take the power out for 30 seconds).

I am having the same problems as everybody else on this thread, but I have learnt from experience that the temporary fixes from Sky rarely work, so all that I'm doing is to keep retrying the download (it may take lots and lots of attempts) and eventually you will get it, it's also worth trying at 'quieter' times as peak prime time viewing at the moment is a real no, no.

until Sky revert the Software to Q160 and give themselves time to produce a proper fix, we will all need to take a deep breath and get on with it 🙂

@loftrat You need to provide details of your setup so that we can all see how you differ if you are working as it may give a clue as to where the problem actually lies. 👍

Unplug it, leave it 30 seconds and plug it on again.

Still not fixed but they have changed the Home Screen to nice red colour! ??‍♀️????

@loftrat Sorry, gotcha, I skimmed over that as I was running through the updates since last night. You have a newer 2TB box than mine and hence a slightly lower version of software, and a similar Broadband setup, although mine is hardwired into the Smart Hub 2. So, unfortunately not many clues there, other than the newer hardware.

I truly believe the underlying issue is their ability, or lack of it, to successfully stream content, especially now they are trying to push us all at Sky Glass.
