Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

@Super+Anthony Agreed, but I don't think that is going to happen, I'm sure we all know how big company's work, and it isn't by giving money back, I think people will have to threaten to cancel before they see anything concrete. ☹️

@grog+arson  I think you right about cancellation,I will bring it up when I talk to them, as it's rather frustrating the time it's taking

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I don't want to be seen to be rubbing it in, but since reverting the DNS change when Sky said the issue had been identified as a network issue, I haven't had any problems downloading other than its noticeably slower.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

@grog+arson Very much the same as you, though I did not have to change the DNS back as I never altered it, have downdoad from catch-up and on demand with no problems since the Sky "fix"can live with the slower download as the programmes just sit in a queue longer. Just keeping my fingers crossed.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I am happy to say that we are now up and running again and have been for a few days.

I am able to download all on demand and cinema which we couldn't for three weeks. Didn't change any settings cos I didn't want to add to the problem if it didn't work for me.

It is running a lot slower but after 3 weeks with nothing I can live with that! Hope you have all had the same luck getting it back

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

@Oldchick You so lucky... mine still not working. I have emailed Sky again this morning. I am due to have a call tomorrow, as it's all rather disappointing

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I reported this issue on here a few months ago, and am sorry to see so many people still having issues.

I changed my DNS to 1111 which worked for we, even though sometimes it would fail, most of the time when I re-dowloaded it would work.

I see many comments on here saying SKY did not recommend the DNS change, well, some SKY people may have said that but is WAS recommended, by SKY as a 'fix'. I had an engineer on site show me the msg from SKY engineering.

However, that said, since the 'latest fix' I changed my DNS to automatic and did a cold re-boot. From that time I have had zero issues. It all seems stable at the moment.

I hope it continues!

I have a 1TB Q box, hard wired and BT ISP

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable

I haven’t tried changing DNS they are still the same as the router 192.168.*.*

Mention has been made about Sky implementing a fix, when/what was that?

Still failing downloads here.

@Super+Anthony

Not Good your still having the issue though....you said your in contact with Sky, otherwise I might have considered escalating..

@COLBY2467 I think it was New Years Eve, but may have been the day before.

If you are still having issues, you need to keep bugging them, maybe they can work out from this discussion what is different for you compared to those that are okay currently.
