@MarkyMamil I discovered yesterday that the Play Now row isn't part of Playlist! Spent ages yesterday trying to remove things from there. It's the rows below, such as TV Shows, Movies etc that form part of Playlist!

Yes but not unless you have a dish or terestrial aerial in which case it rather makes glass pointless.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@CliffyCliff you appearvtombe confused as tonwhat msrket Sky Glass is aimed at
Sky Glass is not primarily designed as a gaming monitor so no it does not offer 120Hz or VRR but its HDMI ports still meet the 2.1 standard which offers the potential to offer those services but does not require them to be present. It does have eARC.
The screen is a FALD panel but Sky like most manufacturers do not published the number of zones - these are counted by reviewers. The peak brightness is 620 nits which is equivelant to most TVs in its price range. There is a huge debate on HDR but people who run SDR content at near maximum brightness will find HDR lacks punch.
Glsss is not designed to be a home hub so does not integrate with other systems like Alexa but instead has its own interface. It offers all wifi standards up to wifi 6 but actually does not need anything like the speeds those standards can provide. You can easily use the screen to display your own content but you will need to use a third party device like a firestick or a Roku.
Sky Glass is a solution to another problem it is for customers who want an all in one package that allows them to enjoy Sky's services in UHD and HDR with reasonable sound at an affordable price. If thst isnt you buy another TV.

There are not plenty of TVs out there with better specs at the same price point - go ahead and link me to one. 65", 4K HDR with Dolby Atmos Soundbar for £1k or less please. Could you also make sure it's manufactured to a premium finish please?
Thanks in advance.

@Chrisee - Your last statement highlights the issue. Sky Glass is an all in one platform. An all in one platform should satisfy the gamers and an external device to access your own personal content should not be prequired. Defeats the whole point of a "All in One Solution"
@Satele - I am not here to do your shopping for you but one in particular is the Hisense U8G. Dolby Atmos support, 120Hz 4K and 100nits £999 for 65" with superior specs. There are others also. Personally i would say a screen with 600Nits is teh bare minimum for HDR and would not be great in a bright room.
Oh and i see the missing programs from teh program guide is a known fault so your comments about user error are clearly incorrect

Oh dear. Is that the best you could come up with? A bang average Hisense set (as per reviews) with no integrated soundbar? No premium materials in design or aesthetics?
Yeah, I thought you'd struggle to be fair. That's ok.
I have yet to encounter any missing programmes from my TV Guide. If there are a few glitches at certain points in the day, I am still not going to factor this as a major problem and like any reasonable person think that would be acceptable with a brand new product.

If you look at Channel 4 this evening, is their news programme not missing from 7pm? And other spots in the day where local news are on across terestial channels?
If so, they may have fixed the bug that was still there this morning when I had the TV on before work.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@CliffyCliff we will have to differ on this but if you expect a single TV to offer every facility you will be disapointed as none do and certainly not at the same price point. The Allinone concept is to access Sky's content not any other content.
I say again sounds like Sky Glass is not for you but it can be a perfectly sensible choice for other people.

@Satele I don't think you are being completely balanced although I fully accept that your opinion on Glass is as valid as anybody elses. My initial opinions were good. I love the TV and sound. I made the mistake (which was down to Sky's promotion) of thinking that it would be an upgrade to Q. Take away the experience with the TV (I'll say again - it's great) the exprience of watching TV at your leisure (which is why we subscribe to Sky) is, at the moment, vastly inferior to Q. I can't see how anybody could refute this?
If Sky can turn around the UI and the playlist/recording function (I'm doubtful) - then I'll stay with it. If not - I'm sending it back (with a heavy heart).

whats awful for me about skyglass is they still havent deliverd it an no reason why other then it wasnt dispatched

Where we live, we have only a local relay transmitter for terrestrial channels with a very limited number of channels relayed. We can't even get BBC News in HD so satellite is our only option and SKY with multi-room allows us to watch SKY channels and terrestrial channels in various rooms.
QVC and other shopping channels may not be for you, nor me, but obviously some people watch them or they would simply shut down.
So as Glass has limited channel function, it should at least be acknowledged and prospective subscribers should be made aware.

@Satele Trying to justify to yourself you haven't wasted a grand on a tv that doesn't work properly?

@CliffyCliff wrote:This message was authored by ChriseeThis message was authore@Chrisee - I agree it isn'y for me and i can see why people would want it. Granted not at the same price point but i am looking at the Samsung Neo range which does litterally have everthing.@Satele I am not sure you know what you are talking about. Just looking at page one of a google search and rtings gives it 8.4/10, techradar 4/5 and cnet 7.9/10. That is above average, average would be 6ish. Just havng a soundbar built in does not make it good, the Hisense still supports Dolby Atmos, i can link you to soundbars that are sub £40. Personally i would be much more interested in 120hz and higher Nits then teh fact it has a teeny soundbar built in. As for Premium material, yeah Glass is made from Alluminium, big del, so it is thick and heavy with crazy colous, not something i would want on my wall personally but that is down to opinion.
I know fine well what I am talking about. You're comparing two entirely different products.
Your Hisense is a mid-range, standalone TV without any type of soundbar. The fact it supports (as in, is capable of playing back Atmos content) is irrelevant. It does not contain a soundbar. A Dolby Atmos compatible soundbar equivalent to that found in glass will not be found new for less than £300. Fact. Glass does not have a 'teensy' soundbar - it has 215W output with 5 speakers and a subwoofer.
So, go and find me that setup for £1k elsewhere. You can't. So just save everyone's time and get there faster.
You've concluded your post stating that Glass isn't a product you want so it's now clear what your motivations are. No reason for you to be here, discussing a product you don't like or want.
