I just had my latest email from Sky, prompting me to 'upgrade to Sky Glass', despite being a Sky Q user.
It really is poor, and it's no wonder there are still so many complaints, when even after all this time Sky are misrepresenting Glass to existing customers.

Really annoying that they persist in using that word: it just sets subscribers up for disappointment.

I just had exactly the same email, for the third time in a couple of months. It's riddled with very cleverly worded inaccuracies which achieve nothing more than to stengthen my dislike for the product and its entire marketing campaign.
"We love it. Our customers love it. We think you'll love it too." Errrr, no.

They're practically giving them away now, but even then I don't see the point, especially if you've got a high end console or want a decent soundbar.
I think I've had an email desperately trying to peddle it cheap every month since February?

Can you please link me to the OLED TV you got at 65in with dolby Atmos for less than the price of the 65in glass TV? Not sure how you got hold of a OLED TV with a dolby atmos sound bar for less than a £1000? If your talking about some tvs that say cones with Dolby atmos then there is the first mistake. Those are just TVs that support dolby atmos pass through
A proper dolby atmos is hardware like certain speakers then it's source audio. So you can support atmos but that doesn't make It atmos. The glass tv has a built in atmos sound bar which is hardware and you supply the atmos audio via software.

I have a 65inch OLED which cost me roughly double the price of my Glass TV running with a reasonable 7 speaker home cinema set up and a puck and yes the experience is significantly better than the Glass in another room what a surprise.😀
The cheapest 65 inch OLED currently sold by Richer Sounds is the LG A series from last year at £1199 which is an absolute steal but you would need some decent sound kit but be quick as stock will not be around for long. This years 65 innchOLED models start at £1799 and go up to £3k.

It's more than likely Sky will make a new version which will lbe either OLED or QLED again but with 120hz panel and suitable for gaming then people with the current Glass Tv should be able to upgrade in the future.
I decided to order one because I'm not a rich man and wanted a 65in TV and put my Samsung QLED 55in in the bedroom and my OLED to go in the gaming room but I couldn't afford over £1700 for a 65in so £21 a month is perfect for me and will be for so many others. This is why it's never in stock imo.

Atmos supported is not the same as atmos. Its like HD ready used to be. All it means is the TV supports pass through of atmos where as the glass TV has atmos hardware inside ie speakers.

How about this 65" OLED for £749:
It doesn't get great reviews for its sound but then again, neither does Glass judging by the numbers of people requesting assistance for hooking up sound bars and AV amps via eARC.

I agree. I suspect that's one of the major selling points of Sky Glass for many.

Is that not just financing a TV in that case, without it "feeling" like you're financing a TV?
It's the same thing the mobile operators do - you're not really paying a line rental, most of it is a finance agreement on a handset. I suspect many people wouldn't bat an eyelid if it's part of a service contract, however might if it was checkout-credit style financing (even though technically it's exactly the same, just bundled with a service).

Yet they are still practically giving it away now.
It made big TV's affordable and ticked a few boxes like ATMOS/HDR which was popular until many people experienced its deficiencies. (and noticed how little Sky content is actually in UHD/HDR/ATMOS - but that's an issue for most customers sold either Glas or SkyQ on the USP's of those technologies)
Considering the huge quantities of content either being stripped from Sky or being provided faster and better elsewhere, the Radio Rentals/BrightHouse approach to tie people into the hardware was very clever. People were swayed by the giant slab and are now tied in irrespective of both Glass and Sky content being underwhelming.

Exactly right... I found 4 UHD channels without having to click on a program, then go onto the settings to see if it was available in uhd. I got mine based on the speil the sales guy gave me about it being really great for gaming. At the time I got my lump of junk I was using the PS4 so I assumed the poor quality was due to that but then I got the PS5 and it was no different. I read lots of comments from people saying how amazing the quality is and I'll say it again... I assume those people work for Sky because why wpuos their quality be any better than mine?!
I read an article the other day that Sky have just added more channels because "We've listened to our customers" Umm not really because most of us were complaining about the poor picture quality, lack of spec, no game mode and countless bugs wirh the thing and not one of those was addressed in the update!

@Sarah+Ald Can you please link me to the 65" Sky Glass TV that is OLED (rather than just an average at best QLED screen) and has a proper Dolby Atmos system (5.1.2 separate speakers, not a built in sound bar hodgepodge).
I get that you've spent a lot of money on your Glass TV but please be honest when trying to compare products.

PQ makes Sky Glass look laughably bad!
