What I find more interesting is that Sky seem to be negotiating with Virgin to use their fibre network, if that happens it would make me more likely to move from BT to Sky unless BT can also supply FTTP rather than FTTC as they currently do at our address.

Virgin have just started to cable our road.

Interesting... Virgin cable has been on my road for over a decade but I've always resisted it, despite the various recent offers for their Gigabit fibre. If a partnership with Sky brings the price down then I may be tempted, though I can't actually fault my existing Sky FTTC connection - it's been rock solid for years.

If rented they should come with a coin meter attached to stop people selling them on Auction sites 🤣🤣🤣

Coin operated rental TV's, I remember them back in the 60s and 70s. It was an option Radio Rentals (I think it was) offered.

@simon194It was available in London and Sheffield in the 1960s, the first cable TV in the UK. I believe it started in Canada. I remember it but not the company, it might have been "pay TV" or something like that.

Easier to hack you just had to jam the mechanical timer, some foreign coins did it, found that by accident.

Haha, yeah, I can remember we got one of those coin-operated TV's back in 1970, it was big and bulky, as I recall and it blew up a few years later, although not before I got to see all of those great early 70s shows like Timeslip, Ace of Wands and Escape Into Night etc. Does anyone else here remember those shows?🙂

@Silver+Surfer+64 A blast from the past and before my time. I trust you weren't into making ice moulds of 10p coins to feed the meter... 😉

The 10 pences also

supplied the electric meter. So you were stuffed if they both ran out. You haven't lived unless you lived in the 70's . If the broadband goes off for 10 minutes nowadays it's a drama. 😂

Oh don't like it states

The only TV with Sky Inside. So you can stream every channel, show and app over WiFi. No dish. No box. No fuss.

M you'd have to be mad to buy a TV like that but it does look like it's a rental

What a pile of.

It's basically the TV Apple considered making about 5 years ago and then thought the better of...

I'll pass thanks.

@PogitI think it is a purchase although of course if you cancel Sky it will no longer work with Sky.

Without seeing all the specs it is not a bad buy.

The rumours said there were 3 sizes but there does not seem to be three.

The T&C say it's a sale, not rental and also that there are 3 sizes available.
