Sky q vs sky glass pricing
So i haven't received my code yet to call for sky glass so i popped to my local store today to chat about it.
i currently pay £89 a month for the full package including uhd Netflix and broadband. If i move to glass my monthly would be £144 which inc £20 a month for the tv. So they are charging £35 a month more for the same signal to the house.. doesnt make any sense!

1) It is not the same signal to the house. Glass is a completely different delivery system.
2) If you are on any discounts they are not carried over to Glass
3) Glass packages are rolling 31 day contracts not fixed for 18 months like discounted packages are on Q or Sky+
4) No one is being forced to get Glass if they have Sky + or Sky Q already.

Re: Sky q vs sky glass pricing
It all depends on what you're paying for Q.
Discounts vary dramatically between customers on Q contracts. Some people pay half what others are paying for exactly the same service. Someone on a heavily discounted 18 month Q contract is unlikely to make a saving by switching to Glass where no discounts are available on the 30 day rolling contracts.
There may be offers on Glass on Black Friday, but there may not. Demand still seems to be high so Sky will gain nothing by discounting their brand new product, other than annoying all those who have taken up the product already.

You can't include BB in the comparison costs as it's separate to your TV package but the maximum I could come up with for a 65" Glass (4 year credit deal) is:-
65" - £21
Ultimate - £26
HDR/Atmos - £5
Netflix Premium - £8
Disney+ - £8
Sky Sports - £25
BT Sports - £27
Wholehouse - £10
Sky Cinema - £11
Sky Kids - £5
Total - £146 or £125 without the 65" TV. There's a £10 one off fee for the credit deal and an additional £50 per Puck although the first one should be free going off experiences on here.
There would be an additional £5 a month for FF Ads in 12 months time though. That (unless I've missed something) is the maximum you can pay for a 65" Glass deal.
If you're paying £89 a month for that lot on Q including your BB then you've got the deal of the century.

Re: Sky q vs sky glass pricing
£89 excludes bt sports and any multi rooms prices. After speaking with sky face to face, the guy told me the staff dont even get a discount on the glass package yet but will do in December so expect offers to come then.
Given the feedback on here i think glass has some teething issues that need fixing so holding off a couple of months wont be so bad.

I would be surprised if any deals are offered while the subs are on a one month contract.

Re: Sky q vs sky glass pricing
So my package including the 55 glass tv is £3 pm less than q to me that's a deal. Ok £50 for the pucks. Delivered today and set up was good no issues . Pucks all 3 set up ok. Picture may not be as good as a top end tv but mine will be in the dining room and maybe a good idea if people consider the glass tv as not the main but a secondary tv and connect a puck to the other TVs.
im happy as up to yet.
My broadband is with bt and I'm using the discs and no drop out yet.

I can't see how they came up with £144 for you then.
65" - £21
Ultimate - £26
HDR/Atmos - £5
Netflix Premium - £8
Sky Sports - £25
Sky Cinema - £11
Sky Kids - £5
That's £80 without the TV (£101 with), presuming you want everything possible in UHD. I've removed Disney+ too as I included it by mistake (unless you do have it).
Obviously that doesn't include whatever your BB deal is but that's separate anyway and any discounts won't be affected by moving to Glass.

Re: Sky q vs sky glass pricing
Your right off I switched to glass it would be around £50 more expensive. Lose all my discounts. Not worth the hype. Will wait till they can't sell them any longer they'll be giving them away.

Re: Sky q vs sky glass pricing
I will be surprised if there is any Black Friday deals, as there will be lot of people still in the return window, even more kicking off if there is...
and seems stocks a bit low as well if the online order process is showing correctly
