Sky q remote won’t control sky box

My sky q remote on my mini box in my bedroom has stopped working, having to use a app to control everything. No buttons are stuck and batteries are ok as lighting up when I press all buttons I have tried pressing 7 + 9 but flashes 4 times then nothing else happens. All I can find online is how to pair it to the TV which I know how to do but it's not the TV I'm looking to control it's the sky box itself. Thanks

@Scottish172 7 & 9 deletes the pairing you need 1 & 3 to pair the box by bluetooth then you have to go through the TV matching again. See https://www.sky.com/help/diagnostics/sky-q-remotes/what-would-you-like-help-with

Hi 

when I press 7 and 9 and then 1 and 3 nothing happens nothing comes up. I am not trying to pair the remote to my TV I'm trying to pair it to the sky box itself as nothing works at all.

If you don't pair it to the TV, you can't change the volume as the Sky Q box doesn't have built-in volume.

After holding 7 and 9 to reset the remote (flashes 4 times) you then hold 1 and 3 which should bring up instructions on screen to re-pair the remote.

@Scottish172 if the process in the link I posted doesnt work your remote is faulty. When pressing the number pairs do so at the sametime and hold the buttons down until the led blinks which takes a few seconds. You have to reprogram your TV control after pairing the remote to the Q box that is how Sky designed the system.
