Sky q connection help

Good afternoon

I need some help I've just moved into a new house and I'm having problems trying to set up my sky device with no Engineer available for another two weeks

I  have attached a picture of the two sky cables coming from the dish down the wall and where it enters the house and the other is showing the aerial point on the other side of the wall

Now the issue is I have a sky Q box which needs two aerials and I've absolutely no idea how to get it working from this info point does anyone have any advice or tips they can give me on this

Many thanks

@RupinderbQuite simply you can't, you need the two cables to go to your Q box (perhaps they come out somewhere else and not at the socket you have found), also unless Q was previously installed the LNB in your dish needs to be changed. Did you use Sky's home move service.

Yes I did the earliest engineer visit is in 10 days time. I thought i would ask on here to see if anyone could shed any light on it as I have never seen 2 wires like that go into a coaxial point!

Hi @Rupinderb the outlet you have pictured does not seem suitable for Sat cables -

as @bob1234 says I think you need to look elsewhere as to where it comes out / terminates in your room

Re: Sky q connection help

I have looked everywhere and thats where they had the tv set up, and the coaxial is exactly on the other side of the wall where the cables come in

I will try and look again , I totally agree the cables have to go somewhere!

@RupinderbOften there are no sockets just loose cables, from the dish, which plug straight into the Q main box.

Re: Sky q connection help

Weird that you have twin "shotgun" cable going from outside wall, usually same twin cable would be left lying on carpet.........

Maybe they have cut cable off and it's behind tat plugged hole.

Can you get any slack ouside, and push some more cable through?

 @Rupinderb

Looking closely at your photo of the internal wall and connection plates, there is what appears to be a sealed off hole at the bottom of photo to the left of two bolts which look to have held some sort of bracket. It could be that inside this sealed hole is the cut off satellite cables. I could well be wrong but you could drill out that hole to check and reseal if nothing there.

The outlet above next to the plug wall socket appears to be a TV aerial outlet and unrelated to the satellite dish.
