My installation pack came today, just an ethernet cable and some instructions. The instructions tell me that I should already have a Optical Network cable (ONC) installed but I do not!! Is this an issue or will the engineer just install it on the day??

Normally openreach would install on the day. However if openreach think theres already one it would be best to contact sky to tell them you don't. Call sky on 150 from your sky kandline or

Ok thanks will do! Openreach were about 20 yards from my house today and appeared to be laying cable? Guess it might just be a coincidence!?

Ok , the main thing is they know there isn't an optical network terminal so that will be installed on the day
However "Single Dwelling Unit Residential UG premises served by 2.5 Inch plastic duct 56." Means that they may need to do digging to get the cable to your house.

In other words there's no need to contact sky its fully in the hands of openreach
