Sky Q remote setup for TV not working?

Hi all,

I recently had Sky Q installed, and had my TV delivered from storage, unfortunately the remote for it has been lost. I'm trying to set my sky remote to control the TV, I select it from the settings menu as advised, then all I get is a blue screen titled 'remote control setup', with 'please wait' underneath, and thats it. Nothing happens. What can I do to sort this?

@Chriscook1986  I don't think you can use a Sky remote to control a tv, apart from turning on/off and the volume.

That's all I want to do, to control volume and input source. Just my tv is booming at the moment an I can't turn it down.

Thanks for the link, but I've already tried that, and it just says 'please wait', almost as if its searching for tvs or something, and the TV select screen never comes up. Do I need to have the TV connected to WiFi or anything?

Hi @Chriscook1986have you tried going to

Settings - Setup - Remote Control  - SKY Q Remote  ?

BTW in the short term have you checked the rear of your TV for the volume control buttons - although I think some TVs these days don't have any, many do have them even if they are small and well hidden.

@Chriscook1986 reboot the Q box by unplugging the mains for 30 seconds which should clear the glitch.
