Sky Q losing connection with BT wifi

Worked perfectly fine, now it drops daily. I have rebooted router, that connects to everything consistently. BT extender is next to sky q box. All settings are consistent on main box and mini. Wifi works perfectly for by box next to it.

@Peter+D.By BT extender I assume you mean disc. However only the main box will connect to BT hubs or discs, mini boxes use their own link generated by the boxes to link.

If you have trouble with the main Q Box linking to your hub you can try these steps.

First in the BT hub turn off "smart"

then depending on the hub move the 5Ghz channel as far as possible from Ch36

If you can split frequencies you can't with the "smart hub 2"

You can also go into the Q box engineers menu and narrow the bandwidth.

If none of the above work, try turning off 5Ghz and when there is a stable connection turn it back on.

If the 'extender' has an Ethernet port, try that?

Re: Sky Q losing connection with BT wifi

BT broadband password keeps on needing to be re-input but can always see the signal.

Re: Sky Q losing connection with BT wifi

i've also had this exact same problem, and then need to spend ages reconnecting the other sky boxes back to the router and then Sky Q box.

I tried turning off the smart box but then couldn't connect the Sky Q to the main sky box. Did this work for you?

Take it overall it's a sky equiptment issue that they havn't fixed.

Re: Sky Q losing connection with BT wifi

I turned off smart on the bt box but didn't make much difference, however when I've turned it back on it has worked consistently for 2-3 weeks - worth a try

Re: Sky Q losing connection with BT wifi

I'm having this issue every day now. Frustrating doesn't event begin to describe it. Tried to watch a movie with my son. I had to give up and send him to bed. I won't get this time back. In the old days I would have just played a DVD. Sometimes modern life really sucks.
