Sky Q connection to router but no internet

@Morgan+McDonnell If you look at my post a way up this thread you will see that I tried a LAN cable and that didn't work either and I verified the cable in another device and the cable was fine.  If yours works then great but as far as I am concerned the box is flaky at best I have seen loads of posts about this and I have changed my router because the sky go told me to.  I have now changed it twice as the first change couldn't handle the number of devices and I started with a router I wanted to keep as it enables me to do virtual lans etc so I have had to comprimise to keep the box working.  I especially like the engineer turning up and him not able to get it to connect as well.  I have so much network equipment happily connected to my network never disconnecting never giving any trouble. (Apart from phoning home in a creapy way) As an Engineer myself (Electrical) this black box is begging for me to fix it!

I was describing how I get my SkyQ to play nicely!

My tablets and phones etc are wifi but connected to the Deco Mesh not the router as the wifi in the router is turned off.

Anyway given your qualifications it appears you have no need of my help/advice so I shall leave you to it.

@Morgan+McDonnell thanks I now realise that your mesh set up acts as a ethernet extension  and found another on the net using orbi netgear as the same idea thus replacing the wifi in the sky box did you turn off the wifi in the sky q box?

I only turned off the 2.4ghz wifi in the Q box as I need the 5ghz to connect the mini upstairs.  If I weren't connecting a mini then I would turn off both.

I have the exact same problem. Have sky hib and sky q it works on wifi standing next to hub upstairs so clearly has an i ternet connection but on the floor where the sky q box it says connected to the hib and an x next to i tenet connection. Rebooted wverything rang sky who could not fix it and they have to wait ten days for an engineer . They need to fix this urgently. Need to start on social media everyone making a noise so other sky customers leave or dont buy sky

Hello , I cannot get the sky q box to connect to the internet it says it's connected to my router but there's no internet connection, my internet is a 100 %, I've had engineers out on 2 occasions but few days later it's back with t same problem, done all the resets etc and still no good, any help be appreciated tks

@Liam+98760  I had a power cut the other day when the power came back on the sky box had lost connection and so I connected with WPS and had the dreaded connected to router but no internet.  I didn't have the time to play around with it and so left it for a few days.  The box sorted itself out and connected to the internet well I could not belive me eyes; so leave it for a bit and see if it comes back on!

How about this one then - main sky box showing whats mentioned in this thread - 'connected to router but no Internet connection' its a wired connection, not WiFi and all other devices are fine. But get this - sky mini q box connected to Internet fine. All apps etc working OK.

Screams out poor implementation of networking protocols to me....

Same here Sky Q box says no internet so can't use catch up etc however mini box in conservatory and bedroom have all the functions - what's that all about

Just to say I have had this problem for two weeks, connected to router but not internet. Last night I went through all of these answers again and could not resolve. Every other device in the house is connected to WiFi just not the Q box which randomly disconnected after being perfect for the last 18 months after install.

I then noticed a command to set your q box as a hotspot. I turned this feature on and magically connected to the internet 😮

Haven't seen this workaround anywhere so thought I'd share in case it works for someone else. Don't know the why behind it and don't even know if this was the 'fix'. It seems like a common fault or bug that sky should have sorted out by now...
