Sky Q compatible hdmi splitter
Hi, just recently got sky q and my hdmi splitter isn't working with it( it worked with the old hd sky box). Anyone recommend a splitter that will split the signal to two TVs at the same time.there's loads on amazon which say they work with sky q, but not sure if they do.

Re: Sky Q compatible hdmi splitter
@Paul02s You'll need one that can split 4K at 60Hz for maximum compatibilty. Read the user reviews on Amazon and find one that fits your budget where someone confirms that it works with Sky Q.

Re: Sky Q compatible hdmi splitter
Hi, sorry to jump on your comment but I'm considering upgrading to sky q but hesitate as currently we use a magic eye on an rf outlet but q doesn't allow this. If I used the device to you recommended to split the hmdi how would you change the channel over on the second tv? Tv in living room, second tv in bedroom directly above. I just want to be able to watch what is downstairs upstairs so there is no need for a multiroom subscription thanks.

Re: Sky Q compatible hdmi splitter
All current Q remote controls use Bluetooth, which may well work from that kind of range. However only one can be paired with a Q box, so you'd need to bring it with you.

Re: Sky Q compatible hdmi splitter
If Bluetooth doesn't work through the ceiling or you can't be bothered to take the remote with you, download a Sky Remote control app to your phone. I have a free one that links to the Q box over WiFi and allows me to turn on/off, change channel, etc.

Re: Sky Q compatible hdmi splitter
That's great. Thank you both for your help. So just to confirm I just need a hmdi splitter and a good lenght/good quality hmdi lead and I should be able to replicate what we have currently? Meaning we can watch upstairs what is downstairs. Thank you. 😊

Re: Sky Q compatible hdmi splitter
@Ztay888Yes BUT if you want UHD you are limited to about 5M lower resolutions about 20M, longer than that and you need an optical HDMI lead (if you need one of these make sure it is the right way round as they are EDIT thanks to @TimmyBGood unidirectional.)

Re: Sky Q compatible hdmi splitter
Thanks to the sage advice on here, I've got 2 tvs running the same picture from my SKY Q box. I've got a splitter from Amazon as suggested upthread and the tv in the kitchen works perfectly, so... Nice work, guys!
One small niggle which may or may not be fixable though...
Previously, pressing power on the SKY Q controller would turn the SKY box on, and in turn the tv would automatically wake up.
Now however, pressing power on the controller turns on the SKY box, but the tv stays off. You have to turn the tv on with its own controller.
Presumably the splitter is intercepting/confusing the tv's hdmi auto detect? Does anyone know if there is a way around this?

I think you'd need a splitter which is explicitly compatible with HDMI-CEC: some spec sheets for the more expensive ones mention this.
