I am fed up with having to continually reset my Sky Q Box.
I keep finding the hard drive running as though on set-up. I have to power-off, then go through the reset routine.
Now the box keeps freezing the picture. Awful pain as trying to watch Wimbledon.
I have looked at the forum posts and I can't find a similar situation. Perhaps the box is just worn out as I have had it since the launch.
Not enough hours in the day to try and phone Sky, even though I have a VIP membership!
Anyone out there able to help please?

Go down to Settings but don't press Select. Instead type 0 0 1 Select to open the hidden menu. From there you can Reset Settings (you won't lose any recordings or preferences) which takes about 20 minutes. See if that helps sort things out.

Tried to type in 001 but nothing happens. I have not selected Settings, just scrolled down.

Right. Did a reset, made no difference, had to re pair the handset etc and it is still freezing.
Left it powered off for over 2hrs before the reset.
Argh....

The sound you hear - are you sure it's the hard drive and not the fan? The fan can be noisy if faulty, whereas the hard drive is just a regular ticking type sound.
When you say the picture is freezing, how long for? Or is it just pixelating?
