Re: Sky HDR
@no1gooner wrote:@Piesarus try setting your c9 to cinema home in picture settings, set colour garmut to 'auto' and turn off trumotion. HDR looks terrific on my b8 with these setting and not to vivid.
I've already confirmed the correct settings for the C9 here - https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-Q/Sky-HDR/m-p/3322823#M315716
The reason you don't use the preset 'Cinema Home' on the C9 for any HDR content is that fact the default setting for sharpness is 20, which introduces artifacts to the image.
You should be using the 'Cinema' preset with all of the image processing disabled for ALL HDR content on the C9.

Re: Sky HDR
Having to keep changing the Q box from 2160 to 1080i is a nuisance. I think I will be going back to HD broadcasts as I can't be doing with continually going back and forth in settings.

@Anonymous wrote:Nobody should need to alter settings on any TV other than to ensure Deep Colour is enabled on the relevant HDMI as HDR requires a wider colour space.
Also check the gamut setting especially on LG sets because it is defaulted to Wide which is not the correct setting.
On newer sets when it's displaying HDR content it should be set to Auto and older sets (pre-2018, I think it is) it should be set to Normal. Yes, on older sets it's doesn't seem logical but as LG explain it, it's the "Normal" setting for wide gamut content.

I believe it's only set to wide on 'isf Expert Bright Room' but, you're quite right to suggest double checking it, thank you.

Re: Sky HDR
my TV inhances films old and new watching the latest star wars movie in UHD HDR wow..
The only way to watch Star Wars in UHD HDR is via Disney+. What your TV is doing is faking it via an HDR+ setting. Glad it looks good to you, but it's not HDR.
My TV is only just over a year old.. Any other tvs which are more than 2 years old arnt HDR compatible
Utter nonsense. Mine's from 2016 and perfectly HDR/HDR10/HDR10+/HLG compatible.

Whereas the best way to watch Star Wars Phantom Menace is with ear plugs in and a paper bag over your head 🤣

Re: Sky HDR
So got I've got a new box coming tomorrow but whether it's a like for like I'll have to wait and see. Box been getting louder and turning off for past couple months Internittently but put up with it because didn't want to lose mine and kids recordings. Told it will be another 2GB box so no doubt it's gonna be a refurbed V1. Fingers crossed though that it will be a later version. If not, missing out on a few hours HDR content not the end of the world. Once Live Sports and movies are available in HDR though it will be a different matter.

Re: Sky HDR
Afternoon all I have this Q box 32B12C which I believe is HDR compatible but cannot get it running to my B6 OLED. Its hooked up via my AV receiver to its 2.2 port and everything thing else runs through it without HDR issue. Have deep colour set and Qbox is outputting in 2160P 10bit downloaded the Lemurs in UHD and the tv just wont display HLG top right. Normally run sky on Dark room setting but have tried Cinema to see if it kicked in.
Cant think of anything I have missed other thsn the HDMI cable from the Q box may be the cause but it is yhe ond supplied.
Cheers Dave

Re: Sky HDR
I'd suggest trying it straight from Q to TV, bypassing the AVR.

Re: Sky HDR
Might be worth checking the manufacturers support for the AVR: I note that Denon advise a firmware update is required for various of their UHD-capable models in order to allow HLG passthrough, even though they can do HDR10 out of the box.
