Re: Sky HDR

To pass HLG ALL of the HDMI ports in the chain have to be HDMI 2.0b or higher. I suspect the V1 boxes don't have 2.0b ports and as far as I know they can't be upgraded by software. Devices like the HDfury can't change this either, therefore you will not be getting true HLG HDR even if your TV thinks it is getting it.

Re: Sky HDR

All I can say is that non HLG Programming was not watchable, but HLG was. Not sure always need to see Bt2020, will check out some of my other hdr sources.

again not saying perfect and for me already had the fury  so bit of an experiment. Real cost my time!

Re: Sky HDR

Does anyone else remember in the 1950’s I think it was, those plastic screens to put in front of your set, that were advertised as turning your monochrome TV into a colour display?

Think we’ve just found the 2020 equvalent🥴

Re: Sky HDR

I just checked in the "Legal Bit" section at the bottom of My Package - under Sky TV it says:
"All Sky Q kit is loaned to you at no cost and must be returned at the end of your relevant subscription."

Also, in the UHD section there is no mention of HDR. So even if paying for UHD, you cannot say that it should include HDR. So for all the ones who say they are renting think again your not actually renting

Re: Sky HDR

@Roger+Peters remember them? My best friends parents had one. The colours were pretty lurid. We just had a big magnifier on our 12 inch TV. Made the TV look like it was wearing jam jar bottoms.

Even if you force the TV into BT.2020, if the original source material is BT.709 the colours will be wrong. But if you want to try, the Infoframe you need to send is:

87:01:16:fb:03:00:3e:21:91:9b:aa:19:f7:08:43:8a:08:39:13:3d:42:40:10:27:00:00

Or use something like AVTOPCONTROLLER to generate it automatically on your HDFury.

Re: Sky HDR

@Piesarus, good cinematography, good special effects. Not the best wAr film I have seen. Worth a watch. Very good in UHD/HDR. My grandfather rode with the 36th Ulster division and he told me stories about how bad and nasty some of the officers he met were. In the film there were lots of things which did not sit comfortably with me.... officers shaking enlisted men's hands etc..

Re: Sky HDR

@Rhonny  Forgive me bit all I read was amnesties the of several months, my comment incurred to how long they will 'actually' take to do this. Because they have not provided a definitive answer, other then they don't seem to actually know, if Sky have provided a specific timeframe then please share it.

Re: Sky HDR

I am just picking up on this exciting news!

Unfortunately my 2TB Sky Q box is NOT one of the models that support HDR.  Quick question, the 2TB versions that can support HDR, do they have the Optical Audio input?

Bascially, I have Sky Q 2TB connected to a BenQ  HDR projector which projects Sky onto a wall across the room. At the base of that wall I have a Sonos Playbar with an Optical Audio cable running back to the Sky Q box.  So I need the Sky Q 2TB HDR box to support Optical Audio input.

Hopefully that makes sense 🙂

Thanks in advance.
