Re: Sky HDR

@Rhonny So basically there is not really a way of telling if it's in HDR?

 Thanks for your helpful response.

@Super+Anthony

Sky will be adding 'HDR' next to HDR content in the menus in due course, I read earlier.

And your TV can tell you if it's in HDR. As can your eyes.

Re: Sky HDR

Does your TV Remote have an Info button? If yes, just press that, it should show whether HLG is present or not.

Re: Sky HDR

@NathanielSJ Have tried with the sky remote but no. It does however through the Sony picture menu

@Super+Anthony

No, as I think it was on this thread and I'm not searching for it!

On my Samsung, HDR always puts my backlight up to max whenever it detects HDR, so I always know from my picture settings that it's HDR, even with no wording indication on screen.

Re: Sky HDR

What picture mode is your LG TV in?

If it's in Vivid mode, try changing it to movie (light or dark depending on your viewing environment) or HDR mode. For some reason LG tv's don't like displaying HDR properly when they're in Vivid picture mode.

The HDR effect preset you're talking about is a faux HDR setting and doesn't give you true HDR.

If the TV receives a HDR signal it will trigger the appropriate settings on your TV.

With an LG you should be using the 'Cinema' preset for all HDR content with all of the motion processing disabled.

For all SDR content you should be using either 'isf Expert Bright Room' or 'isf Expert Dark Room' with the caveat, you have to alter the colour gamut under the Bright Room setting from wide to auto😉.

Re: Sky HDR

Hi. Netflix app on the sky q seems to be still without hdr. I have the update, only sky downloads uhd have hdr - the ones we discussed the nature programmes (nothing from the previous uhd on demand range offers hdr like the new gangs of London ).

ive compared programmes with the app on my tv (the app has hdr) sky q app is not updated. This is the same for Disney. Will this remain the same

My box says it's hardware version  32B108. Is that the latest one?

Re: Sky HDR

Not sure this is the right thread to post on, but I wonder if a Sky Q app for streaming on smart TVs is on Sky's roadmap. It would solve a lot of present and future 'is my Q box compatible' issues 🤔.

The Sky boxes give no indication if something is HDR.
