Re: Sky HDR

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@gems+151 There you go again encouraging people to lie about their V1 2TB Sky Q @Kei+M

Again like I said in my previous post it makes it a lot harder for customers who have a genuine issue with their V1 2TB Sky Q box

But you blantly keep on posting the same advice

@Laing1 Thanks for your help

A - My Box I was told by Sky was that it would work fine - 32B206

B - I was told by Sony that yes it would work, but am now watching the programe you advised, but could not see a message saying HLG?

@Super+Anthony you can check your box at https://www.sky.com/help/articles/check-which-sky-q-box

I know my LG puts a little pop up in the top right corner of the screen saying HLG

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Sky Q 2 TB (Silver)Box, 2 Mini boxes since June 2016, all connected by wifi

Re: Sky HDR

@bob1234

I dont see it

Under Picture resolution, the highest it goes is 2160 UHD

Under On Demand download, again i can only see SD, HD and UHD

Is this another Sky Gymic?

Re: Sky HDR

@Laing1 Like I said earlier, SKY told me that my box is HDR capable, and also Sony told me this was the case.

It looks like this is a con from Sky

Re: Sky HDR

To say I am furious to find out that my box is one that is unsupported is an understatement. I had my first Sky Q 2Tb box back in late 2017 when Sky lied to me on their website that HDR was coming soon. It is now middle of 2020 & I find out even now it is available in this limited form & my box is incompatible. I like many others have posted on HDR threads for years being frustrated. Sky had better come out with communications fast as to how they propose the box is going to be replaced. If they dare come out with an advertisement stating 'Now with HDR' then I for one and so shoukd every other incompatible box 'renter' should complain to the advertising standards authority. Whether they put a little asterix next to it or not.

@Super+Anthony  if you mean the Q box there is no HDR setting of any type, however when you change the resolution to 4K/UHD there should be an option to set either 8 bit or 10 bit, there is also an option "choose for me"

The TV has no resolution settings it is 4K or it isn't.

Re: Sky HDR

Hi @Super+Anthony   On your Sony Remote if it is the same as mine. Press the ACTION MENU button, scroll,down to Picture and Select. You should see [HDR] displayed top right. I don't believe that it tells you if it is HDR10, HLG.

Re: Sky HDR

@bob1234 Under Picture resolution, it only gives me choice for picture resolution in UHD and its 2160p UHD and there is no option choose for me

Re: Sky HDR

@JOHNGALLEY

AS you seem to be ok with the present situation.. what box have you got if a V1 then you have a point..

I have a V1 so cannot get Sky HDR. Just like you.

otherwise, you are just being a Sky Fanboy ..

No, I just have a sense of perspective.

unless you have to sign a contract 365 days of the year why would HDR even be in a contract as it started today.

Clearly from this statement it wasn't in your contract. So then how can it be breach of contract?

So do you reckon if i was out of contract with Sky as of today and i said i will be leaving unless you replace my V1 box with a newer version compatible with HDR/HLG they would say no .. that box would be here ASAP.

You're probably right, but I really couldn't care less. I've been at work today. You're on every single page of this thread. Only one of us has their priorities wrong.

@Maverick1975 , it's not HDR it's HLG. It's royalty free and been around for 5 years. Believe in better but your not actually going to get it.... or very few are. It's all about the journey

Why do you keep saying this? It IS HDR!
