i notice from the link on here that there is more types of boxes that dont work , than boxes that do!

The chart is somewhat misleading as it takes no account of the number of devices in each version which were distributed (and how many older models have remained in use).  Personally my main concern is that the current users of v1 2TB boxes (including myself) are more likely to be exactly the kind of early adopters who will now be most frustrated...

My 1TB UHD box also states "hdr: false" BUT it is most definitely displaying HDR , which is confirmed by the onscreen tv graphic displaying "HDR HLG" and my TV's settings auto changing to my chosen HDR picture mode.

@Duffy502 ditto. Certainly as Oracles we have not been told that Netflix app is included not that Sky tell us everything.

"@NickH161  when did you get sky q"

@gems+151 What difference does that make?   I only got Sky Q in March this year and turns out I've been given an ancient v1 box.

Re: Sky HDR

Same here. I upgraded to sky q last May and got a v2 box. Suffered loads of pixelation issues and had an engineer visit who swapped it for a v1 box. I've been shafted big style!

Re: Sky HDR

I have a Sky Q box which isn't HDR compatible. 32BO...

I think it is disgusting that I subscribe to this service. I have UHD so why is there a difference in the hardware? So infuriating.

When will I get the upgrade or new box ?

Re: Sky HDR

Gangs of Lemur Island was great but I burned through all 5 episodes last night the other two shows are a bit eh, lacklustre. Would like more content unlocked sooner rather than later else it was effectively just a trial -

which worked; no doubt but it only really served to remind me there's another Gangs-of program. Something I'm sure Sky themselves would prefer was viewed via the HDR it was intended yet it's being squandered right now in SDR!

@g652wly how do you figure that? Your tv had issues with a v2 box so Sky supplied a v1 box which sorted the issue sounds like a result.

Re: Sky HDR

I got through to CS and spoke to an agent (who was working from home).   I gave him the link for checking the versions and he agreed I needed a box swap.    He put me through to the technical team for a swap.

Went through all my details, agreed my box isn't compatible for HLG.  He then asked if I had any problems with my current box.  I honestly said, no.   He then told me they couldn't do it and I'd have to wait weeks or months.

I'm in cooling off period for Signature,  so thinking I'll cancel and try again.

Re: Sky HDR

How do you check what box you have? Is it on sky Q TV itself?

Exactly. It's a compatibility issue with a couple of manufacturers (mainly LG, I think) and the choice was either have display problems, or a v1 box which supported all the services available at the time it was installed.
