Re: Sky HDR

Yep great picture quality on Sky HLG.

Remembering that tv picture settings are per input on my LG, I had to change the main picture mode from Standard to Cinema and switch off trumotion. All other settings as per the HDR defaults.

Re: Sky HDR

Hi - when the programme starts does your TV flash up with an HDR or HLG banner? My LG B7 didn't so not sure if I'm getting HDR. Thanks

Re: Sky HDR

I know I have the HDR pack as the UHD appears for Sky Cinema, does this mean I will have the new HLG setup if I update my software?  @Rhonny

Re: Sky HDR

@Sky.Watcher

I'm not disputing the unfairness. If you'd signed up to have your bins emptied and they then added a service to wash them too, you'd still only have a contract to have your bins emptied. Morally, you'd feel aggrieved, but you still would not have signed up in your contract for the wash element so you couldn't complain you're not getting the service you actually signed up for.

With Sky, we signed up for Sky Q with UHD and that is what we are still getting. If they stopped our UHD provision while adding HDR to others, then there is a very strong case for taking action.

You're also talking like Sky is going to charge you for a box swap, and you're already getting indignant, threatening to leave. They really aren't going to do that. But it will take a bit of time.

And no, I don't think they should have launched before a box swap, but this is limited content on a new channel. I personally don't care how bright the lemur's habitat is - it still looks great in that UHD we all signed up for. If they started rolling out HDR properly in content we actually all want to see like movies and sport, then it would start to become an annoyance.

Re: Sky HDR

Not seeing HDR this morning

I think I have the v1 2tb box. Model number 32B0xx

I read that all 2tb boxes should receive HDR but doesn't seem to be the case.

Re: Sky HDR

@hudsonk

There is no HDR pack. If you have the UHD pack, and a compatible HDR TV and the right Q box, you will get HDR.

No HDR on v1 boxes.

Re: Sky HDR

@Rhonny

Obviously I'm going to give Sky chance to sort it out, I'm not a spoiled brat lol, I'm just saying that if they dont do it for free in a sensible time scale then I would reserve my right to leave at the end of my package. I think it is more to do with the principles than anything else, I would be worried that in the future your next box would be excluded from a future update. I design smart heating controls for a living and future compatibility and feature set roadmaps are literally lesson 1. Thanks for your comments though, genuinely respect your opinion.

Re: Sky HDR

I don't think I am getting HDR through Sky. I will stick to watching Netflix and Amazon/Disney even their UHD looks better.  Good initiative by Sky though, maybe when they upgrade the boxes...

Re: Sky HDR

I have an LG C9 with a V2 2TB box

Just downloaded the lemur documentary and did get a pop-up HDR HLG message at the start.

Re: Sky HDR

@Sky.Watcher

Thanks. Rest assured I'm frustrated with the principle too. I might wait to see what's next for Sky HDR and if I continue to miss out, after a reasonable period if Sky doesn't come through with the box swap, then I will be pro-active.

Re: Sky HDR

I have HDR 100%

What are the best settings to use for HLG?
Will HLG appear as an option for viewing the Lemur document

Apologies for the constant question @Rhonny

Re: Sky HDR

@hudsonk

I've explained what you need to watch it in HDR.

Please download one of the three series that have been listed as being in HDR, and see if it works for you. There is no HDR option, HDR is an inherent improvement in the dynamic range of the picture. You just download the UHD version. If you have the 2tb box from v2 onwards or the new 1tb box, and your TV supports HDR, it will kick in.

Re: Sky HDR

I have (what I think is) V1 2TB box and Samsung 40" HDR 4k TV

Hardware version 32B056

Software Q112.000.21.00L 53wk8j8

Lemurs gets me 4k but no HDR according to the TV

Re: Sky HDR

Anyone know how to update, I've gone into settings a couple of times, checked for update and it's downloaded something and reset the box but it hasn't updated, can't see Sky Nature or Docs ? Thanks
