This might be a stupid question but how do you know what box you have.

I didn't know there was 2 versions of the q box. My is black with the silver bit under it.

Yes, if only I'd known there were a couple of nature documentaries coming.

If you had known anything at all, you would have claimed it wasn't coming to Sky. Makes you look somewhat foolish.

It's a good job that nature programming is some of the best HDR content you can watch... they're certainly picked a very powerful way to show it off if done right.

Re: Sky HDR

Why does this place have oracles? Ive never known it on any forum. And, why do those oracles take it on themselves so personally to respond. ..?

I'm so looking forward to this. Not hdr. It will be all hype( look hype up in the dictionary and it describes sky advertising. No really) note added to log in on Wednesday 🤣🤣🤣🤣

sky is diluted to announce it will taking the next step in blah blah. Or really I'm so glad your proud of yousrselves being years behind the completion. 👍

so it will be sky hdr. Not hdr. Ie heavily diluted. Therefore, a waste of time. Still it'll keep all the "non biased" oracles 😇 on here busy. 😎

Re: Sky HDR

@legofpork  as I said earlier, one needs to move with the times and not ignore it. We need HDR. SD is useless and we will see that HD is useless soon

@Windy33 If you have one with Silver trim it will be a V1 or V2 version all V1 versions have an internal power source all V2 versions have an external power brick

It is a very strange way for a forum to operate. I find the sense of superiority to be very offputting, which isn't uncommon as this forum doesn't have the best reputation for that very reason. Having said that though, it's less a forum in the traditional sense and more of a question --> answer --> end thread mentality here.

Re: Sky HDR

@PBS83

its bullying actually. Not on a sky platform surely. A forum is there to voice opinion. And if you post the wrong one you'll get a stream of people shouting you down. And historically those people have all been oracles. Although not so much recently, it must be said.

this forums reputation is indeed poor. There's a few mentions of such on other tech forums. Although, being fair, there's very little, comparatively, that people can do to help, I suppose. Beyond settings and resets etc what can you do except give ring sky responses. And that experience is shocking too. Has anyone got off the phone to sky in under an hour and actually achieved anything? I know I haven't.

Thankfully your opinion of me is of no consequence.

Although I have no idea if HDR will be released on the 27th it does seem a strange decision taking into account Sky's reduced staffing levels and the number of calls it will probably generate.

Re: Sky HDR

Seems like I may have a V2. However like many, I already view HDR, via TV apps and Apple TV. I watch Btsport via the TV app, premier league is better quality pictures, than Sky's premier league UHD nonsense 🙄

Re: Sky HDR

32B057 is my box thing. Also my picture setting is 2160p uhd. So will I be able to watch HDR then.

Windy ?

Re: Sky HDR

No because its V1 and if true that box is not supported .

I switched to MyCanal now on Apple TV where for £20 a month i will watch premier league in  4K HDR while Sky will be chasing competiotion thats like 5 years ahead.

Re: Sky HDR

Oh that rubbish. So I have a 4k TV but I won't be able to watch UHD on it. 😢😢

Re: Sky HDR

I am a Platinum customer and have been with Sky pretty much since they started.

I 'upgraded' to Q in Nov 17, just before v2 boxes were issued.

Unlike HD boxes which customers bought and we accepted could get out of step with new features they were not designed for, Q boxes are Sky owned and my belief is that they should all perform functionally the same for the same subscription rate.

I have been looking forward to HDR as I love nature programmes and if my box doesn't support it, I will be demanding a subcription reduction until it does or a box swap. It is not acceptable for them to screw loyal customers for an unspecified time. I suspect v1 may never get HDR...
