Sky HDR colours looking washed out on LG TV

I've having a problem with Sky's HDR recently. The colours are looking very washed out when watching live football on my LG HDR compatible TV. They looked fine before only a couple of weeks ago. Have Sky updated their STB software or something?

@Wickerman123  the live UHD/HDR football on my LG TV has been consistently good with no recent noticeable drop-off.

Something changed on your TV settings maybe ?

Oh, and just to make sure, you have got your Sky Q set to 2160p 10-bit right ?

Re: Sky HDR colours looking washed out on LG TV

I've always been blown away by football in hdr. I have LG OLED 65" and the colours are fantastic.
However, watching the Liverpool game last night and it didn't look like hdr - looked like standard HD.
Maybe there was some sort of issue ?

Re: Sky HDR colours looking washed out on LG TV

This is a ongoing problem which seems to be getting worse . Firstly while watching live football in hlg on my LG oled e9 the picture would drop out of hlg to a washed out uhd picture . So I would pause the screen then press play this would give me hlg picture back . But the last week while watching live football when setting up to watch hlg all I get is a blue screen . Maybe the problem is to do with 8 bit & 10 bit ???

I think sometimes the variation depends on the source.

Try and find something else (Gangs of Lemur Island for example) and see how that displays.

Re: Sky HDR colours looking washed out on LG TV

Tried to watch Wolfe last night and the colours seemed absolutely fine. The show was not in HDR though. Does appear to be an issue with live football only. When I was watching Arsenal - Liverpool yesterday, I got two little icons on the top right hand corner of the screen indicating HDR and HLG. Some weeks ago the icon was only showing HDR. Maybe the problem is HDR and HLG are both combined on the UHD feed? I dont know. Hoping sky could sort this problem out.

HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) is (& has always been) the type of HDR that SKY uses for both it's downloads and live Football
