Also remove an old Sky go first. do this from finder. close Mac down after removing all copies then reinstall from link

Thanks @seandouglas2 - had another go, removed old apps and downloader apps, restarted, re-downloaded from the link (same website I tried previously), and failed again.

 

It starts the download, goes straight to an update, then tells me to "Quit and Continue Installation" thinking the App is running somewhere when it is not.

 

Frustrating, but thanks for your suggestion.

Thanks, I did search via spotlight, removed installer download and App, still no joy.

Just deleted all apps and download installers, rebooted, did the same install as previously (about 15 attempts in total) and it worked after about 3 more attempts.

 

Something is just not right but I do now have SkyGo - no idea how, as the install was the same as previously.

 

Thanks for your help @seandouglas2 - for anyone else with the same issue - perseverence, keep removing old version of SkyGo, including installer downloads, then re-boot and try again.  Must have been 15-20 attempts but finally working again.

My Skygo also works now, I think it must have had a serious blip, just when we wanted to access it yesterday.

Yet again, Sky Go has stopped working on my MacPro. I get z message to say an update is being downloaded and then the app closes.

 

I have no problems whatsoever with the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 or Netflux apps but continually problems with the Sky Go app.

 

It is an absolute disgrace and whoever is responsible for maintaining this app should be fired - they are totally incompetent.

Try this to completely remove it before installing it again:

 

Delete the Sky Go app.
Launch Finder, select Downloads then delete ‘SkyGoInstaller’.
Launch Finder again, select Go (at the top of the screen), then Computer.
Select Macintosh HD.
Go to Users > [yourusername] > Applications then delete the Sky Go app.
Then go to Library by Open Finder.
Click "Go" on the menu bar.
Press and hold the “option/alt” key.
Click the "Library" shortcut which appears.
Then navigate to the relevant folders (Application Support, Caches or Preference) and delete all SkyGo folders and files referencing Cisco player
Reboot your Mac and then download and install the Sky Go app again.

Recently got a new MacBook Pro 14 with an M1 Pro processor. This MacBook was also migrated from an old MacBook. Sky Go wasn't installing at first but these steps allowed me to install Sky Go properly. Thank you! I've seen some people say to make a new user and transfer all your data to that, but try this first everyone as this worked for me!
