Since the latest update on my Sky Q box the subtitle menu has changed and instead of turning subtitles on or off, it now has another box with English as a choice which then allows you turn on the subtitles on, why ? This seems a backward step as it's more long winded, your response would be appreciated.

@Disgruntled+Joe you are not talking to Sky by posting on the forum.

The change was required to support channels like S4C who have subtitles in Welsh as well as English. To get that to work the change had to be applied to all channels as when the system was designed the need for mutiple langages on a single channel was not forseen. The change was apparently driven by the regulators and Sky are aware its a cludge.
