Series recording

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

I've noticed of late some issues with series recording. When I try to set up series rec. on some sports channels like main event, F1 and lions, I only get option for one off rec.

Also I been series recording bbc1 first nightly Olympic slot (11-12am) and it records all night's programmes no problem, which I watch next day and delete (only delete not remove series link) once watched. But the next night is not on series link which it should be. I have missed sessions not noticing this.

I noticed I have lost series link on various other recordings.

Anyone else have this issue and possible solutions ?

Tia

Hi @Doc5907 I do find that some sports programmes aren't always linked as they should be (especially the Golf).

I think  this happens if the programme is not in a usual slot and of course happens with repeats

I have never had a probelm with the main sequence on F1 but the links are a little confusing as the sequence seems to be F1 Show, Press conference, P1, P2, P3 Quali, (Fred's Notbook if present I think is linked OK) , Race Build up (or whetever it is called) The Race, Post Race & again Ted's Notebook and, annoyingly this season, a  Highlights show - which most people having watched the race won;t bother with ( not all these are n UHD and raceday UHD is one long show rather than pre/race/post / NB)

With the Olympic Coverage I have it set,  but it records all the many BBC 1 programmes from around Midnight through to & including Today at the Games about 7 or 8  different programmes a day  - maybe the time of your last delete for the day is just catching it before the link is set properly  - mine are set every day/night OK (the link does  miss when it switches to BBC2 for the news as links don't hop channels)

Re: Series recording

@Doc5907Series link is very much at the mercy of the data sent by the broadcaster if schedules alter often the data is not correct.

@nigea99  My F1 weekend UHD seems set up ok and always seems to work. It was more just general - if you goto F1 channel on TV guide, nothing will series record for next few days same as main event.

"maybe the time of your last delete for the day is just catching it before the link is set properly "

I think your right with that one !

Thanks

I suspect with the F1 channel nothing outside the 'main' sequence has series links

I may be wrong  but I  also think that Main Event is more of 'bit of this & a bit of that' so has less Series Links

Yes. Recordings in general, but definitely with Series Links, will always be more reliable on the dedicated Sports Channel rather than Main Event.
