Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

I'm sure Sky VIP is their way of trolling their customers. A link to a live video feed for an arts and craft demonstration? 'Special offer' on Sky Cinema that's 2 pounds higher than the price the charge for new customers? Their used car marketing strategy really amuses me also. Everything is on sale apparently. Just show an artificially inflated RRP next to the offer price and tell the customer they are saving money. I'm surprised they didn't put an RRP of 30 pounds in the 18 pound F1 advert and claim the customer is receiving a massive discount.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

I'm another fan who has been with Sky F1 since the begining. Nothing wrong with the show, the presenters or the coverage, its just the price hike to £18 this year on top of increases to their other services mid contract that is the final straw for me.

I hope that a lot of fans dont take up this offer because its only going to get worse. If we pay £18 per month, then why not put up to £20 half way through, then £25 next year and so on and so on.

Sky seems to be doing a great job of alienating its customers, and unless things start to get more realistic I will vote with my feet and leave Sky entirely and move to a free service and unlike previous occasions there is little to no chance of me coming back.

My feelings exactly.  I wonder at what point they will realize that they are going to loose customers.  I'll be checking out the British Touring Cars and the highlights on C4.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

I tried calling yesterday for one last go. Indian call centre I assume. Not budging. Tried to tell me they were generous by not charging Full £30 for Sky Sports. I asked about adding Cinema £19, currently discounted to £9 or paying for 18 months for it with Sky F1 if I could have a decent deal. Nothing that wasn't on my account page offered.

My fault for recontracting Q 'Signature' HD and UHD only in January (also dumped multiroom I wasn't using) when nothing I wanted to watch on Cinema or Sport at the time. Out of contract I would have seen big increases.

It seems when they have you in contract for the Q bit they don't feel they have to impress with add ons. DUH!

Thanks for all the views. Hard ball post Murdoch from SKY owner Comcast who own Liberty Media who own F1 it seems!!!!

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

It will be C4 for me this year too!

Shame they can't see that an inlux of customers paying an extra £10 a month is worth more than very little signing up to the £18 a month.

Sky will know how many people are signing up.  It's clearly a commerical decision to maintain the £18 at the moment but things can change.

But I have the complete sports package for less than the price of just F1...  (More can be less sometimes 😉)

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

Hi all, Having cheaper options at any point in time is sort of the issue.

We moved to SKY Q from the old HD box (we've been with SKY since they took over BSB with the squarial) on a everything in super deal. TV, all sport, cinema, kids, UHD and multiroom for £65 a month.

When it ended in January we weren't using the multiroom , we were not watching any sport, Cinema had little new. If we did nothing everything was going up. We resigned to Q HD and UHD only for £31 (going to £33 next week) I should have taken Sports at £18 then but didn't. Now it is £25 on my account or £30 according to India call centre. I would have settled for F1 for £10 under contract or even a cheaper sport/cinema bundle again. £34 is not cheaper!

It's not just SKY we are now in US model of ludicrous 'full prices' 'discounted' as they see fit on most utilities. A complete lottery when your deal runs out unless you are at the point you can leave!

Comcast owning SKY and Liberty and therefore F1, should be a matter for the regulators but no chance with Boris's stooges in charge.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

@PandJ2020 well having said all I have said in this particular thread, I tried one more time to see if Sky would budge and low and behold they did. And as you mention I managed to get the complete sports pack for less than £18 too. Diamond 17 years, not sure if that made a difference or whether I cought the Sky rep in a particularly good mood. I have definately paid my dues over the years so I am once again a happy bunny.

There wasn't a price hike to £18 this year - that's been the standard price for a single sports channel for years.

The £10 price was a special offer.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

it doesn't matter what they called it. Its just marketing spiel. The fact is that they used to offer the f1 channel for 10 pounds per month and have suddenly increased the cost by 80 percent.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

I've just been on the phone - no offers on the dedicated F1 channel, but was offered £20 a month for the Sky Sports channels on an 18 month contract, or £25 a month with a 31 day rolling contract.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

Sky have been charging me £10 per month since the service was removed from the hd package. As far as I can recall the £10 offer was put out before the season last year so most people got it at this rate. Sky are now trying to say the £18 per month is a 'deal' when it isn't and at the same time as increasing their prices for other services. Pretty poor service from sky on this one.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

It's crazy to expect people to pay £18 for just one sports channel. It used to be £10 and that included HD. Then they were made separate, so £14 per month, and now £18. I've just called Sky see if they'd reduce the price, but the said they couldn't. Although they've reduced my UHD by £2.....??? Go figure!

We can't afford £18 per month, especially seeing as after Bahrain, there's not another race for 3 weeks. Been with Sky for 17 years, C4 highlights for me then

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?

  • I would try again.  I phoned and whilst they wouldn't do anything on the price of F1 other adjustments resulted in a good deal.  Keep bugging them.
