Re: Puck problems

I have given up the ghost and triggered the return of Sky Glass and back to SkyQ same day. What a relief SkyQ just works no issues at all. Really wanted Sky Glass to work but the continuous tech issues absolutely drove me nuts and they were never ending. The poor people in Sky Tech couldn't solve what seems to be fundamental hardware and software issues. So I am out.

Re: Puck problems

How can you force a software update whe Sky hasn't released one 🤷‍♂️

Re: Puck problems

Mine is exactly the same. It's so annoying especially when the sky q mini box was so quick and reactive. I just keep pressing the remote and eventually it turns on!!

Let's hope it's just software problems. If it's hardware related then a product recall isn't out of the question. If the pucks can't sustain UHD streaming without glitching then they're effectively not fit for purpose.

Re: Puck problems

We got our sky glass and puck yesterday. Managed to get it all set up with no problems apart from our Discovery + but after speaking to sky got that sorted.

Puck is upstairs in our bedroom and already having problems with it keep freezing and slow response.
We have sky broadband super fast.
Will give it a few days but missing our mini box already. Come on Sky sort it out !!

Re: Puck problems

Unfortunately this is one of a few problems with Glass. Great idea but does need work to sort out. I sent mine back in the end and went back to Q. I am a loyal sky customer and I will return to glass when it gets better.

Re: Puck problems

Hi Annexx52, when you press the standby on the remote to switch on you must just wait, it takes time to boot like a mini computer. It will wake if you wait, the multiple presses are telling it on, off, on and confuses it. I was doing the same......

Re: Puck problems

Yes I've had my Sky Glass two days and having problems with mine playing sound but losing the picture, very annoying !!

Re: Puck problems

That is a very useful piece of information.  If you look upon all equipment as PCs and act accordingly. If you switch a pc on it takes a while to start up these devices are no different.  They only need to be switched on once and as was stated if you keep switching you will be switching. It off and on.  I do think that something needs to be done about the slow speed of switch on.

Re: Puck problems

Yes

turn this off and also turn on networked standby mode

as when it's in standby with this off it will disconnect from the Wi-Fi and your router won't recognise it the next morning

Re: Puck problems

I agree, potentially a great product, unfortunately I'm sending my Sky Glass package back but will definitely return to it in the future once the issues are sorted.

on a positive Sky Customer services have been first class throughout this process.
