I rechecked the prime video app a day after I had completed the refresh and it had moved to the entertainment section. The sign on screen displayed and I was able to sign in and the app now works correctly. Maybe I was a bit too impatient and needed to wait 24 hours before the refresh activated.
so all good now, problem solved

The prime video app on sky Q won't open. Have refreshed apps and turned power off & back on & it still just comes on as a demo

Just got SkyQ. The Prime app is there but is just playing a trailer. Nowhere to register

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@PatmYou can't register via the app you have to have an Amazon prime account then log in on the app using your Amazon log in.

We have recently had a new box installed and our prime account is not on it

Make sure the new box has the latest software installed, if not then perform a software update. The Prime App should then appear. You'll need to log back in to it with your Amazon account details.
