Re: Prime Video app setup

it seems that several people are getting the same issue as I am, tried phoning sky but i am way down the list, dont understand it to be honest, hopefully a member of sky will catch what we are talking about, I have a membershp, know how to get the code, but then I am back to trying to get the log on page for amazon to put my details in 😞

You don't have to enter the code on the Q.

When the app fires up it generates a one-time code on the Q box.

You then go to a browser and use the code and log in to your Amazon account.  When this is done Amazon sends a signal back to the Q box/app and you're logged in.

Slightly confused here, on the q it just gives me the website to get the code from amazon, once I have done that then what do i do?

No, the Q gives you a code.  (You go to the Amazon link provided with that code).

Fire up the App on the Q box.

Hit Sign in.

You then get a screen like this:prime.jpg

Go to the link on a browser, sign in to your amazon account if needed and then the rest is magic...

Re: Prime Video app setup

My Q box doesn't show this link/code page. Just plays the demo

Re: Prime Video app setup

That's where the problem is, the app doesn't fire up like expected, just plays the demo. So doesn't generate a code

Re: Prime Video app setup

I already subscribe to Prime so i'll try your link and see if it gets me anywhere. I might as well just stick to the good old faithful Fire Stick if this doesn't work. Fingers crossed x

Re: Prime Video app setup

That doesn't work for me because when you say 'open prime video' it just plays the 1m demo and doesn't give you a sign in page at all

Re: Prime Video app setup

hi

Im the same I just get the 1m video, or the blue screeen giving me the website, dont get any sign up details like shown ?????

why is it that some can get it and some can't? I wish I could speak to sky or even get somone on the chat, but nothing helps

not getting a fire stick as I already have a roku stick just extra expense

Re: Prime Video app setup

I have the same problem - I go to the app and I just get trailers repeating.

I managed to get hold of a human when I phoned Sky but they didn't have a clue!

I have a Prime account but it doesn't give you anywher to log in.

I got Sky Q installed around the time Prime Video was released on Sky (14th December) - don't know if that's got anything to do with it.

SURELY SOMEONE AT SKY MUST KNOW ABOUT THIS??

Hi @Patrick+Cardy @smallmeadow

Thanks for your posts.

What software version do you have on the Q box?

You can find this by going Home - Settings - System Info - Software Version.

It should start with Q140, if it doesn't select it and click on Update Software.

If you already have the latest software then go Home - Settings (don't click just highlight it) then press 0,0,1,Select on your remote.

This will open the Installer Menu.

Go down to Apps and select Refresh Apps.

Make sure your Q box is connected to your Internet and the apps will re-download to the box.

Hope this helps and stay safe.

Thanks
Tom

Re: Prime Video app setup

I have just had sky q installed with an additional mini box.  I already have prime video and it is successfully working on other devices.  I selected the app on my mini box and the log in screen immediately came up and I have successfully downloaded the app on my mini box.  However on my main box all I get is the information screen asking me to start a free 30 day trial.  I don't need to do this as I already have prime video.

I have checked the settings and refreshed the apps and it hasn't made any difference.  Can you please help sort this
