Hello,
As advised, we need to place the 2 routers at our propety as high as possible (we have been experiencing signal issues that we would like to finally resolve).
This simple question is about extending the DC power leads to the routers. To ensure we source the correct extension cables, we need to identify them correctly. Please let us know the specification and ideally where we can buy these.
Below is a link of what we need, please help us identify the CORRECT size for the connecting plug / socket.
We look forward to hearing from you,

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThis forum isn't a point of contact with Sky support, and unfortunately even if it was they're very unlikely to have that kind of information to hand. I don't recall anyone posting here with a cable specification.
Hopefully you've got a Hub and a booster (the booster is white): having two routers is never a good idea.

Thanks a lot Tim. Appreciate your comment. Yes, I mistook this board for Sky contact support (having gone in circles trying to reach them). Yes, I did refer to 2 White Boosters, which due to thick / signal-blocking walls, we are obliged to place as high as possible (reason for needing to extend). Guess we'll have to take the existing cable to a shop and match an extension there. Thanks again for your reply! // G

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreYou are likely wasting your time with the whole height thing & extending cables. Providing the boosters are not sat on the floor or on a unit thats much lower than something next to it then getting them even higher likely wont achieve anything

Appreciate your reply. However, raising the boosters does have an immediate positive effect. Also, the three light indicators turn Green as soon as they are raised to a certain height (at floor level and up to about 1.2m high, the middle Indicator is Orange).

I did once encounter that phenomenon, which puzzled me until I worked out that raising the access point (which was running in a wireless bridge) took it of the 'shadow' of the immersion tank in the airing cupboard on the landing.

I'd have never guessed that if it happened to me!

It was the Sky engineer who suggested this originally. He also said that the boosters 'do not like glass' (when we placed one behind a large glass jar).

Not sure that's entirely true. Certainly WiFi doesn't like fish tanks, but that's because a watt of 2.4 or 5 Ghz energy doesn't go very far to heating up that much water...
