Hi,
if I upgrade my broadband speed and find it is not to my requirements can I cancel the upgrade without being stuck in a long term 'contract'?

You get a 31 day cooling off period with Sky broadband where you can cancel without having to pay early termination fees. You still do have to pay for the days you had the service though

Worth noting you essentially can't 'cancel' a move to FTTP: once Openreach full-fibre infrastructure is in place at an address it stays there, and will be used by default rather than legacy copper. Reverting to PSTN-based FTTC or ADSL will not be available once an exchange is SOGEA-orders-only, but 'Superfast' over FTTP is possible (and in theory there's even an ADSL-like full-fibre product, although I don't think anyone has actually ever seen it).
