I've tried to do it but it puts me round in a loop, I can log onto the app, a tivate it on my (android) phone, but then it says I need to start a 7day trial. So I do that, it gives me a cancation date of the 10th  June, and then I'm back to the same page of needing to start a 7 day trial. But if I go to the website on my phone, I can watch appleTV without it saying anything about the 7day trial. Is it just the Sky Glass app not working properly?

@Carnoch04 we are not talking about Apple TV+ we are talking about the streaming box for all content (except Netflix) and how Apple have got it right and SKy haven't.   

 

Apple TV+ is excellent and there are many great shows to watch - enjoy!

There are some great programmes on Apple TV+ Servant,, See etc., My favourite is For All Mankind.

@Jporch316 we loved Only murders... and watched the first episode of Wednesday last night and it looks to be another Netflix hit.   We had some friends over for dinner tonight and they have two episodes of Wednesday left to watch and said its fantastic.

On the Sky Glass open the Apple TV app.  At the top middle of the page you will see a settings icon select this and under the accounts section you need to sign in.  I ignored the QR code and did it on the website.  As soon as you have done that you should have full access after about 20 seconds.

One of my pucks updated software to QS13 overnight. When using it this morning noted some changes to the UI (like watch from start a button in bottom left instead of banner).

 

However the playlist rail is back and the playlist button has disappeared from the Home Screen. Not sure if this is just a bug or by design. 

My tv is still on QS12 and not checked any of my other pucks to see if they have updated and showing the same behaviour.

It was just a bug. I've got one other puck on QS13 and was showing the new interface. Two others and TV still on QS12.

 

A reboot has stored on the "affected" puck.

According to techies who've looked at the code in the latest BBC iPlayer version on the Apple TV, it's been changed to use Apple's inbuilt video player (rather than the BBC version) and there have been code changes under the hood that indicate UHD is being added at some point.

 

Apparently the Apple TV has had support for HLG for a few years now.

@Fothergill1 I just did that, and once I'd logged in, it shows my apple I'd in the Accounts section, but when I go back to the main AppleTV menu it's still asking me to sign up for a 7 day trial. I can still watch AppleTV on my phone, but not the sky glass. It's very puzzling.

@custardchris sorry to hear you are still having problems.  I don't know what else to suggest as it worked for me.  Maybe sign out and then back in again??? 🤷‍

I tried logging out and back in, it's the same result. It's very odd though, I can go to manage subscriptions, and it shows that I have the account, but if I try to play a show, it won't have it. The problem has to be at the Sky Glass end, but I'm not sure of that is Sky tech support or Apple's to resolve?

Initially, I would give Sky a call as it may be something they have encountered before.  I'm not sure what else to suggest 🤷‍
