Re: Playlist refresh now live.

I had about four new episodes of stuff tonight, all are now in continue watching and moved up most recent, so seems its doing what they intended at Sky.

But, well I must moan, watched War of the World on Disney, this did not move up the most recent or appear in continue watching.

Whilst I'm at it why have they left continue watching half way down the home screen, either place it at the top or put it in with all the other playlist functions.

Re: Playlist refresh now live.

@Anonymous I agree - seems odd I have to scroll past an entire row of Sky Crime stuff that is being advertised to me even though I've never watched Sky Crime to then get to my continue watching bar.

Also, watched Masterchef tonight and waited until the end credits on purpose (would never have done this on Q) and it still on my continue watching showing at about 80% watched.

It's tiring trying to work around all the inconsistencies and bugs. I want to love this product as I do believe it's the future, but I also just want to watch my programmes with ease. Very tempted to go back to Q as Stream really doesn't feel ready for prime time.

Re: Playlist refresh now live.

Continue watching acting as designed.

My recents are not updating though, they aren't moving to the beginning as they should. Hmm

I have had Sky Glass since July and at last there is an update that improves the functionality of the system.

The playlist is so much better and being able to connect bluetooth headphones is a useful addition.

@AJM1972 I couldn't agree more about the scrolling for F1.  My glass always defaulted to the first race in the list not the last one I had watched.

I was also watching the T20 Cricket world championships and had over a 100 button presses to get to the latest games.

There is just 1 F1 Grand Prix left for this season and I was intending to cancel Sky Sports after that race as I was so fed up with all the button pressing but now they have resolved the problem I have decided not to cancel.

@Anonymous

disney + shows have never tracked viewing on the playlist - I was hoping this maybe fixed with the playlist change but unfortunately not

also we seem to be back to Netflix app opening from a voice search. Tried voice searching for warrior nuns to add to the playlist but just opens the Netflix app - really annoying

Hi I was with a group of Forum Superusers at an event at Sky's HQ this week when we met the team who put in these changes. They are fully aware of the fact that not all material in apps will add to playlist and move correctly. There are numerous issues out of their direct control not least apparently the point at which a show is considered "watched" the point seems to be the start of the credits but various app owners have different definitions.

I had a quick look at the changes last night when I got back and my initial take was its an improvement but not the ideal end product however It will take time to learn how they work.

We were clearly told that the UI will continue to evolve and that they were listening to customer feedback which includes what gets posted in the forum however these havecto be fitted into thecroad map for the product so things can seem to take a long time.

Re: Playlist refresh now live.

I'm not so sure Sky are putting the expertise and funding in place, it feels like it's held together with tape and string.

I appreciate Apple have vast money pots and that Apple TV has been around a while but if they can put together a fully functioning "Up Next" rail and they are dealing with mostly third party apps then it is not beyond the bounds of reason to expect Sky to achieve the same.

Everything with Glass/Stream is a workaround when it shouldn't have to be and actually shouldn't be the case.

If you are promoting a new format to deliver live TV and on demand then you get the basics right then launch, not launch and see how it goes.

Any benefits are lost in the frustration of trying to watch some TV with ease.

Once Apple introduce Freeview streaming Sky Stream will struggle. Apple you get quality kit, quality software and regular updates.

Sky pull your finger out invest in getting the functionality right and you will have another Q on your hands. At the moment you've got a hmmm "Q"uite!

Re: Playlist refresh now live.

It is definitely a step in the right direction for me. More changes to come in the future, hopefully.

One day in and all ready most recent isn't working for me I've a programme that I've watched all episodes off and it's sitting first in my most recent rail.Shows from last night have added to most recent but are sitting about 6th on the rail......should these not be first??

Once again with this system there is no consistency as the information update differs between app providers and Sky cloud storage. I'm experiencing the same, not ideal but......

@Anonymous I fully agree with you that Sky could, and should, do better and hopefully will do in the future but I have found this latest update a good step in the right direction even though it is not perfect.

I particularly like the fact that the latest series and episode of programmes now appear first not last (sometimes with F1 you had to scan through 150 episodes to get to the current race, now it is the first one you come to).  However this only appears to be the case for certain programmes and I have not been able to figure out why or what the criteria is (does anyone know?)

I recall that Sky Q was a mess when it first launched but it got there in the end .

Re: Playlist refresh now live.

This is what makes me mad with stream😠

If you watch a program or a new episode from playlist is available it drops into continue watching.  Continue watching is located on the home screen and not with all the other playlist information, hmmm.

If you are watching Netflix then Netflix has its own continue watching section - why?

Why can't Netflix just pop into continue watching alongside all other programs. Also Netflix continue watching is located in the Playlist section, huh!

There is just no consistency in the design development here at all. Who the hell is responsible for design and why are they still in that job?

I think Dave is on the second floor in charge of Netflix and Brian he's now on the 4th floor tinkering with the playlist and never have they met.

Come on sky this is basic, get everyone around a table involved in development and just test the system, it's not rocket science it's commonsense.

it should be a feelgood user experience and not a frustrating experience- right! 🤔

Re: Playlist refresh now live.

@Anonymous you are spot on, with your comments.  As I said yesterday, the only thing holding me back from abandoning Glass are the Sky channels, but that will change over the next couple of years.  IPlayer on Apple TV updated today, not sure it has UHD yet, but we are getting there.   Freeview on ATV would be fantastic.
