@tarbat  yes, you can go hunting to find the episode. But doesn't that defeat the object somewhat? You should just have to press WATCH as presented to you , rather than go hunting for the episode.

I totally agree about the difficulty in finding individual episodes in a series.  Sky have gone for the concept of people wanting to watch a whole series rather than pick and choose individual episodes.

Also it would be better if you could exclude individual content providers like Disney+ from the Play List just like you can on Apple TV.

Yes, that would make perfect sense. I don't subscribe to either Disney+ or Discovery+ and have no intention of adding these.

I wonder though how many people may have been duped into signing up thinking it was their only option to watch the programmes they playlisted?

@bdavbdav

well I was happy with Q but I switched to Glass as it had good positives for the way we watch TV we dont tend to record as we once did I now have a young family and the way we watch TV has completely changed in the last few years we tend to watch on denand now so Glass is a natral progression for us. being streammed and doing away with a traditional pvr is a big plus ,

I was constantly running out of space on my Q box and found myself having to delete 130 odd episodes of Hey Dougie and the like where the kids watch on demand but everything was downloaded to the  Q box over time peoples viewing habits change and evolve I'm sure there are many happy Q customers that are also happy with Glass (yes there are issues but without feedback from customers how can sky know what to update in the future) just as there are many that are happy to stay with Q,

at the moment I see it as not a replacment for Q its being sold alongside it and therefore gives customers more choice

Choice is excellent and long may that continue.

The main issue, as far as I can decipher, is not the product as such... it's the complete lack of clear information on how the service works. People feel, quite rightly in my opinion, misled and missold a product that doesn't do what they were led to believe it did.

If there are licensing issues, that can't be avoided. But make that clear to people - even in the small print - instead of selling it in as simple terms as being able to watch anything and everything via the playlist. From the off, their marketing has not provided the complete picture. That's the biggest issue I think. For people to have only realised the limitations after going to the hassle of ordering, taking delivery, setting up etc is really poor customer service. Even more so if people are then having to jump through various hoops by trying to return the product.

Re: Playlist FAQ / Q&A

"It's not a Q replacement, it's an entirely separate product. It was originally touted as a service for those who can't have a satellite dish but the lines have become blurred and people now think it's the natural successor to Sky's satellite service.

It will inevitably replace Sky Q in the coming years - still plenty of life in the satellite business yet though - but in its current form, quite why any happy Sky Q customer would willingly downgrade to a sub-standard service by comparison is a mystery to me. Perhaps the aggressive marketing by Sky, and their less than forthcoming approach to the full picture recording service limitation played a part"

I agree it's not a Q replacement at the moment, but as you  point out, it will eventually become just that. As to your point about downgrading, again I agree. But you seem to be missing the point that Sky themselves have actively targeted those happy Q customers, told them that Glass is all bells and whistles, does everything they want, and thrown in the lure of a new telly with built in soundbox capabilities. Is it any surprise so many have swapped? It's certainly no surprise that some people feel they've been sold a pup.

If I playlist F1 in UHD will it be available to stream later, or only in HD?

Only way to try, is to go to the tvguide and playlist the HD and also the UHD.
For the HD assume going to the tv guide and playlist it on  the Sky Sports f1 hd channel

For the UHD, go to the tv guide and playlist it on the the uhd channel, that I think is in the 1000s. Or playlisting it from a search for the UHD content using the menus or voice.

Would be good if you could try as it would be intersting for others to know how it works.
Recording both the HD and UHD is something that many on Sky do.

Thanks, will try it next weekend and report back.

@FMUK Interesting, is it still playable now and what status does it show if you view it, specifically does it have the magic word 'recorded' ?

Re: Playlist FAQ / Q&A

Still loving Sky Glass despite the somewhat jarring paradigm shift. My Disney+ sub has gone missing but somehow I can still access one of the newer episodes of Ice Road Rescue. On my playlist, S6 E3 (Deadline Danger), which I think should actually be episode 2, is available and plays perfectly. It shows as coming from the Nat Geo channel, not Disney. Can anyone confirm what they see?

Looking online, it doesn't appear that episode 2 has aired yet. I think Season 6 started on the 28th?

Sky Glass may never replace Sky Q until ALL of the UK has broadband fast enough to handle something like Sky Glass. That means full fibre all over the UK.

What I would like to see is Sky Glass and Sky Q allowable in the same household with Sky Glass being concidered like it's a mini from the main box (so not need for a second subscription).

I do think that anyhing that cannot be played back should notbe allowedto be addedto the playlist.

But then if something in your playlist eventually became available weeks later, you'd miss it because you wern't allowed to add it. My guess is that at the time of adding it to the playlist, Sky Glass doesn't know if it's going to be available.

But will Sky Glass tell you it's now available to watch or will again be broadcast? How often is someone going to keep checking until he/she givess up?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@oellph Looks like one of those series that Nat Geo show in a completely random order.

The episode Deadline Danger (listed as Ep 2 or 3 depending where you look) aired last night and was the first shown. Next week's episode is Mega Trouble (listed as Ep 1).

Indeed it does.

There are two episodes airing tomorrow morning....so I'm crossing fingers, will avoid turning TV on until after the 1st episode has finished, if that's magically recorded and available it looks like something has been resolved.

And if it hasn't, I'll do a 2 minute dip into the 2nd episode to see if that somehow forced the recording originally.

I don't even EVER want to watch Murder, She Wrote !!!

Re: Playlist FAQ / Q&A

So why are series are missing episodes despite others being available?  If it's a regular thing is a massive deal breaker.

Been away for a few days and Wife has today tried to watch some playlist programs, however, for unknown reasons, there are some big gaps of missing episodes in both Hollyoaks and Married At First Sight Australia, shown in the images here.

The experience has to be consistent, it's just a waste of time otherwise, and massively damaging to Sky despite this being an issue with the channel providers.

It's a massive mess, and the consumer again gets short changed and a massively disappointing experience, but who do we have to complain to to get this sort of thing rectified?

Re: Playlist FAQ / Q&A

And to add to the confusion, All 4 on my phone has the missing episodes, so why are we getting All 4 lite on Glass and not the full experience?
