Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
Hi all,
just adding my experience to list. I have no issue whatsoever on recordings or most live tv for that matter, either on the main or mini boxes. My pixelation seems to be exclusively localised to watching live sport. As soon as sky sports or bt goes on, huge pixelation and sometimes a second or two freezing occurs. Originally thought it must be the sports broadcast but seems to suspect and it did begin to occur for me in December. Just found this thread so interested to read that SKY are aware and looking into it.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
The engineer kindly left me a new Sky HDMI when he first visited and after the initial attempt of trying to track down some interference from all the other devices, I was rather hopeful that the new HDMI would be the eureka-moment.
Sadly it made no difference.

I know it astounding we have had around 8 engineer visits and I have seen from their configuration of our mesh how appliances are connected but they could not find any interference, the only item that sent the whole system into meltdown was their sky booster oddly enough, anyway I believe it's irrelevant the pixelation issue which has only started since November has to be a sky issue none of us had issues before for this problem even if our systems are affected by interference else why would we all have the issue at the same time regardless of our setups.
The pixelation issue is a different animal entirely. I was simply discussing the vagaries of WiFi not the V3 issue. I'm just grateful I have the Gen 2 2TB box which appears to suffer with zero faults and has no issues with HDR.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
Way way back our issues started with pause repeat on any channel when you was watching something it seemed to stop then skip back and repeat, it seems to have moved on since November last year to just pixelation on recordings and on demand, maybe due to all new equipment moving anything that could cause interference the last thing I had was a new hub but made no difference just increased my speed slightly.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
It started only on my Mini Box but has now spread to the Main 2TB box. I have sent a complaint to Sky but with no reponse yet. I am beyond patience with this problem which is ruining our TV viwing completely. Help please.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
Seems a frequent issue that it is only with live sport or sports channels
I've not had any issues on the majority of channels..just sport channels

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
Up to now I've had problems on BT Sport, BBC, ITV and the History Channel. Emailed them again last night threatening to cancel but still waiting for a response.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
I logged a complaint via the website and had a call from Technical today.
They again made me run through the same old tests and checks until I insisted they checked their system for any known issues.
After being on hold for 5 more minutes the advisor returned to say 'oh yes we are aware of an issue and are hoping to fix it via a software update'.
There was no indication if they have actually identified a cause or replicated the problem.
So even their team members aren't kept up to date with what's going on. 😕

Yes still have the issues some days worse than others but I was watching a film Sunday afternoon on movies 24 I paused it whilst doing something and it froze would not fast forward or rewind and in the end had to to come out of it and missed all what was paused this issue for us started at the same time as pixelation whether it's related I have no idea as I haven't seen anyone mention this alongside the pixelated images

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
Still the same for me.
Had an engineer out who would only realign my dish but that's obviously not the cause of this issue.
Router firmware updated.
Full system reset and boxes moved around but still no resolution.
As stated above - some days are worse than others but there is still a big issue here that we are getting zero feedback on from Sky.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
Mines still the same. Restart it every day now. Waiting patiently for the promised software update. Something to look forward to I suppose. Under normal circumstances I'd forget about it and go to the pub.... Mind you, at the pace Sky are working Covid will be gone before their rubbish software is fixed.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
I suppose we should be grateful that their software engineers didn't pursue careers as surgeons, civil engineers, army, etc. With their clear level of incompetence, had they, there would be thousands of lives lost.
So we should be complementing Sky for employing them in a sector that can't actually harm people.
