Offer during online chat
I've been looking to upgrade my package to get Sky, Netflix and Disney+. The normal charge for this is £32.99 which would have put my whole monthly bill over £50, and I specifically wanted and asked for something less than £50. This amount was confirmed when I chatted online maybe a month ago. I chatted online again today and I was offered a manager's deal. It seemed pretty good (I don't know how much detail I should go into here, or everyone will want the same). But the thing is, I wasn't quite sure whether it was legit (even though it was by an official adviser). Granted, I can believe that managers might be able to offer a deal to specific customers to get their business. But in my first chat I was told that online they could only give me quotes and that I would have to call in order to change anything. This time, not only did the online adviser suggest that they would set it up for me there and then, but when I asked whether I should call up, I felt like I was being actively discouraged from doing so. Makes me wonder whether the online adviser can really be trusted.

Hi @peredonov Did you take the deal? I assume that you started the chat so you know it is Sky. If you didn't then the chances are you have lost the deal as you normally only have one chance.

@peredonovThe offers made via the Sky phone line should be binding but in case of doubt they record calls so you could get them to listen to the call if there is any dispute.
Sky should also email you with details so you can confirm what you are to be charged.
When I have got a "special deal" I have always asked them to email me with a confirmation then I have proof.

@peredonov If you started the Chat ythrough Sky I'm at a loss as to why you then didn't believe them. It's likely that offer will not be available again. You can call Sky if you want to negotiate a new deal https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv#contact-leave

Actually I got a phone call and had to leave the online chat, which lapsed. But I was suspicious because in the first chat I was told I *had* to call in order to take up any deal being offered, while in the second I felt like I was being told *not* to call. It doesn't make sense to me that they would not offer the same deal over the phone.
I am satisfied it was a legit adviser, but I am skeptical about whether an adviser can make those kinds of changes to your package when I was told in the first chat they could not. Or even if that adviser had some kind of side-deal running, but I don't see how they could have profited from it personally as the charges would simply have been added to my bill, or so I was told.

Sorry but it sounds like you're massively overthinking this. You were offered a fantastic deal, just take it and answer the phone later!

Yes you can do it all via the chat you don't need to phone, My daughter has just done exactly that and got a deal she was quite satisfied with and never once had to phone.
