Yes it was excellent, even talk of a Oscar nomination for Anne Dowd, although I'll believe it when I see it.  To be clear, whilst I admire Sky for making their own movies, generally speaking their output has to date been pretty meh and they need to up their game.  I hope it gets to a point where the quality is more aligned with Mass than Save the Cinema and supported by 2 decent cinema release premieres a week.

I think again that echoes what I said earlier - I think even their original productions and acquisitions will be significantly motivated by customer data and taste. I think you'll still get the odd awards player like Mass or The US Vs Billie Holliday early in the year but imagine you'll count those on one hand.

I think the original titles will probably still veer towards the centre so to speak so more genre films, family stuff, animated movies and star-toplined titles... if anything I think Save The Cinema was a minor step in the right direction as I think being more localised could open the possibility of more original British titles (and hopefully more in the genre space) as I think there's an opportunity for them to really establish a niche (much like they're trying to do in Italy) amongst the more globally focused services.

Re: Number of new Movies reduced

I don't think i've found anything to watch on Sky Cinema for ages now, it all appears to be dross.

The only reason I haven't cancelled is because of Paramount+ coming soon.

But it is yet to be decided whether £11 for that is worth it.
