I have just moved into a new flat (communal dish) and the Sky Q set up is different from my previous house. There is only 1 sat cable and there is a powered unit as in the images. Try as I may I cannot get a signal. The previous tenant (also had SkyQ)
said that you have to power on the switching device and then reattach the sat 1 cable. Nothing is happening 🤦♂️
Anyone able to help? Engineer is not due out until 18th May.

@JamieMcA88 did you have your own dish at your previous address if so then you will need to go into the hidden menu and change the LNB type from wideband to SCR
To enter the engineers menu do the follow
press the home button then scroll down to setting sand hi-light
do not press select/enter but press 001 then select this takes you into the engineers menu
once in there in set up you will find the LNB option

@Laing1 @Thank you so much - that was the issue. I had to re-set the plug and the box, but the main part was your answer-thanks again!

However if you navigate to settings in the box's menu and enter 0,0,1 before clicking select you will open the hidden egineer's menu. In there you will find the LNB type setting decribed above carefully change that from Wideband to SCR and confirm the change - do not make any other changes in that part of the menu.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreOnce you have changed the LNB type to SCR, you will then need to remove the mains power from your Sky Q receiver for around 10 seconds. Then re-apply mains power and your Sky Q receiver should now configure itself in a mode that allows it to command the communal dCSS adaptor / dSCR multiswitch to provide it with the Single Cable Router feed that it requires.
Godfrey.
