I can't see a way of them putting in fibre optic cables into my house without digging up the brick paved driveway and drilling holes into the house ...that is definitely not an option.

Where's you local exchange?

Vdsl (fttc) is already in stop sell for new subscribers. Anyone wanting superfast speeds (80Mbps) will have it provisioned through fttp anyway. Anyone currently on fttc may continue to do so until its withdrawn. Which will be anytime now up until December 2026

I would not worry too much, the engineer will explain what work would need to be done when they visit and you always have the final say as to whether it goes ahead or not. The chances are that the cable has already been pulled through underground and the engineer simply needs to drill a small hole in your house somewhere and splice it into an ONT.

When u say exchange do you mean the big metal box thingy that sits close to the kerb .

I mean the main local exchange eg Holywood, Portaferry etc etc . Trying to see if theres any reference to fttc withdrawal.

Try contacting the builder to see if they know if fibre has already been brought onto the grounds
