New account using my email address

I have received several emails from Sky stating that a new broadband account has been setup for me using my email address. I got another email from An Post - delivery service which shows the delivery address to some other person living in a different county. Who do I have to talk to to get this user to change the account to their own email address? Also, should Sky not protect my email considering I am already a customer for the past 13 years??

These emails you have been receiving could be scam emails as it doesn't sound like an email that Sky would send you.

Re: New account using my email address

I initially thought thought that but the An Post delivery confirms it is official. The person also has the same last name as me. Think it may be a genuine mistake but I just want it changed. Sky support bot is pretty useless.

I had a similar, ilar experience a few years ago. I agree it's most likely that the other person mistyped, their email address when they set up their account details.

I'll highlight your post to Sky to see if they can help via the forum, but they won't be able to correct this on your say-so, and I doubt they'll be able or willing to query it with the other customer. Look out for a blue chat 'bubble' towards the bottom of the page and an invitation by email or private message to chat online.

Most likely this will be resolved when the other customer realises that they're not receiving emails from Sky and queries it with them.
