New Contract Admin Fee

Hello, I have just been on the phone to Sky about changing my package and downgrading. I wanted to take out sky sports but the lady told me i was a VIP customer and persuaded me to keep it for a reduced price of £66 per month (includes HD and multiscreen). I was about to confirm it but she said there was a one off admin fee of £20 (reduced from £30) to enter into an 18 month contract. I said i have never heard of such a fee before and in principle refuse to pay it. Said i would rather cancel my sky subscription. Fee not removable so i will now cancel my subscription and watch netflix and amazon prime!

Anyone else had this?

Re: New Contract Admin Fee

Yeah, we've been hit with it.

Decided to just add it on to the next bill as we'd already saved the £20 in discounts after the first month, it was a no brainer really.

If you're that set on not paying it though there are plenty of options out there that will contain something similar when it comes around to renewal time

Re: New Contract Admin Fee

Admin fees have been a standard practice for about 2 years now. It will only ever apply when you are taking a discount price.

Thanks
