Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@kaleyjane I'm afraid sky don't allow transfer of accounts, your partner will need to cancel, once done you can then sign up yourself.
They will likely be chased for any debt now as cancelling a direct debit does not cancel the services. This could well cause you additional problems trying to sign up.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@kaleyjane They will as the payment method has been cancelled as explained, them cancelling a direct debit does not cancel the service, your partner needs to cancel their account the correct way.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWe see these reports on here regularly but sadly there is nothing that can be done for you because it is your ex who is the account holder and therefore he is responsible for what happens next, if he doesn't pay then the service will be suspended I'm afraid until payment is made and if it isn't after 56 days then the account could be closed and while I can't say for certain it is not an open and shut case that they would let you sign up at the same address on your name but should it get that far you would need to phone Sky about getting an account opened.

Fortunately it's your partner that Sky will go after for any outstanding bill. If you have access to their Sky account you could pay it, but that only puts off what needs to be done to sort it out.
In my view, the best thing you can do is nothing, leaving it to Sky and your ex. But it does mean you'll be without Sky until it's settled.
