My Sky Q mini box needs a new remote control, it’s a few years old

And it's held together by sticky tape, How do I get a new one? Does Sky replace these free?

In that circumstance probably not, however no harm in trying your luck by calling them. If not you can pick them up for £20-30 from various retailers.

Does any anybody know what the contact number for Sky support Ireland or even the chat line? I have looked at the website and clicked on "Contact" but that just takes you to lots of help docs,

At the end of those help docs you will likely find a box which says 'Yes I still need help' 

 

If you click on that you will see a button which says 'Call Us' 

 

This will reveal the appropriate phone number

 

Depending on the issue you might also see a live chat button, along with an indication as to whether it is currently available.

Yes, at the end of the help doc you will find a button "Still need help? 

Clicking on this brings you back to the help docs, digging further you will find that the contact phone number for ROI Sky support is 0333759099, is this a valid number? My mobile network says no

I have had hours of harmless fun trying to communicate with Sky support but now the novelty has worn off, after 15 years, maybe it's time to change

Maybe so. I may be doing the same. I wouldn't however, do so on the basis of hoping for better customer service. The main providers are as as bad as each other because there is barely any competition and they can get away with it.
