Moving home and switching to Sky

Hello, I'm currently with another provider that I'm unhappy with.

I'm moving homes and want to switch to Sky at the same time.

Unfortunately, I'm still on contract with my previous provider for 8 months or so.

Would Sky be able to help cover some of the early disconnecting fee?

Also, since I don't think the current occupier uses Sky and engineering work might need to be done, should I try to arrange for that to happen before I move (with their permission of course), or can it only be done after I move in?

@MarneusCalgar  Sky offer a switch credit service but only upto the value of £100 per service see this link

you will be responsible for paying your current provider in full before claiming credit from Sky

as for the work I would personally wait until you move in

All service providers (BT, Sky, Talk Talk etc) apart from Virgin use the same Openreach infrastructure. If your new home doesn't have an Openreach connection, Sky will arrange with them for one to be installed, but I'm not sure that you can place an order and set that in motion until you own the property. Might be best to check with Sky if there's currently  no Openreach connection to the property.
