Mother had scam call

Hey everyone,

 

So, my mother got a call from a number (08008021945) claiming to be Sky, she gave them her name and account password, first line and postcode of the address, this is when I got her to put the phone down and I called Sky to report the fraud/scam.

Now, there is no confirmation message to aknowledge the fact that this report was made, I told the Sky phone representative the phone number previously mentioned and they told me they had reported the call to the fraud/scam team and he didn't even ask me for the phone number at first, I had to tell him the number after saying he should take it.

Is it normal practice to not recieve a message in the sky account page after reporting this kind of incident ?

@xXRaKXx  I don't believe that you will receive anything on your account to say it's been reported

Yeah, this is where I got the number from to contact Sky, I just find it perculier that there would be no confirmation of the report 😓

@xXRaKXx has your mother changed her Sky passwords - both the online log in password, and the (different) one she uses on the phone?

If you had phoned on the phone number linked to the account, this automatically links the call to the account you are ringing about.
