The remote is the exact remote they have been using for years with their 360 box ...... even to the point where there are buttons on there that don't do anything eg record

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

I am on my 2nd TV and this one is worse than the first.  At this moment I have given up watching BBC as the sound has gone and every 2 minutes I need to pause and restart. It periodically goes off all together and says please wait for your programme etc etc.   atabout 9 pm every night the freezing starts and goes on until the early hours, making it unwatchable.  I changed by broadband to sky fastest thinking that would help.  I've had an engineer from sky out who said everything was OK.  Can't believe Sky thinks this is OK!!

That would be unusual for Glass: I suspect they were checking Sky Broadband itself, and weren't particularly qualified to be passing judgement on anything else.

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

yes it was the broadband they checked and said is should be OK to run Sky glass, ie. the correct speed.

Unfortunately that probably just confirms speed arriving at your address at that point in time (and Sky advertising underestimates how much Glass needs anyway).  It's quite possible that, past 21:00 for example, local wireless conditions change significantly.

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

Yep its not made a blind bit of difference and the TV is unwatchable the majority of the time.  And we are paying through the teeth for this.

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

Anyone else frustrated by how long it takes to get content available to stream?

For example, im a F1 fan - i didnt watch the race live yesterday, so i was going to watch it on catch up. Frustratingly the only thing that isnt available via Sky Glass is the race - everything else, even the post race shows/analyse are there - just not the actual race. At least with Sky Q i could have just recorded it and watched right back when i wanted to.

@chdjsjsu  F1 has been an issue from the start on Glass.  Send your complaints to ViewerR@sky.Uk .

You can be sure they've had plenty of complaints about F1, so keep sending them.

You're paying hundreds of pounds for this thing. Are you happy with this? Have you contacted Sky?

Returning it for a refund is always an option. The puck-only service will be launching later in the year and should work better. At least you can attach it to a more stable and functional TV of your choosing.

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

I found that connecting the tv to your modem/router by an Ethernet cable improved things considerably as itvprioritises the signal - relying on Wi-Fi is just a waste of time.
I still get the same old problems but to a much lesser degree and the hiccups are bearable although in my opinion Sky launched this product too early before all the issues were ironed out . It's cheaper for them to get people to take Glass than fit dishes to houses and more profitable.

imstuck withnGlass noe until I've paid for the set but I find the service now bearable over what it was like relying on Wi-Fi.

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

Well I came here as everytime I looked to "buy Sky Glass" it comes up with a page of "Sorry, we're having technical difficulties".

Now i've found here, I think my mind is now made up to completely avoid Sky Glass.

F1 issues,...amongst other issues? Eeeek!

Sounds like their idea is better than the actual product and service provided.

I'll give it a miss and just buy a new tv elsewhere. I wonder if this is why their "buy" page is in a technical down state,... realising they can't keep selling a dead fish to people. Conscience kicking in?

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

I have to jump in here. Had my Glass from the very start as they launched as well as 4 x Pucks. So, so so many problems, but Sky have been amazing, helpful and listened. Yes, I am fairly techy, so I know my tech stuff, but I hope I've helped with all the feedback.   Anyway, long story short, we are on our second Glass screen (first had lip sync issues) and we have new Pucks.  Original hardware did undoubtedly have issues that both firmware and software updates didn't resolve.  I can honestly say, we are now very happy with both Sky Glass and Sky Pucks. Yes, there are still a mountain of tweaks and updates until it's the definitive system, but it's getting there and we are really happy.  It's been a journey but Glass is still only about 8 months old and I believe it's the future of tv viewing.

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

But issues with the Sky F1 after all this time still? That's pretty unforgiveable to not have fixed those delay in playlisting etc,... especially when the football doesn't suffer this same mystery.

If I turned on and found the results staring at me or missing qualifying,... i'd be absolutely mortified.

This would be a MASSIVE turn off for me in my consideration of Sky Glass.
