@Neilferret wrote:Our Glass s working better now. Still takes ages to think about things, but it gets there. Today took forever to start, including reboot but it's running ok. PUKS however........don't ask ! Spent an hour rebooting and rebooting and now miraculously they work........
biggest issue is the playlist.....aaaaarrrgh ! Nightmare '. It adds things I didn't add and I can't delete anything. Come on Sky, sort this. Pus the interface is badly thought through - needs a serious rethink.
sky, please get this all sorted. Not clever !
It's not a Playlist. It's the Play Now rail. You can't remove anything from that.
You can add and remove things from your PLAYLIST no problem. Do so on the TV Shows, Movies or Sport Playlist rails.

So, we've had our 43" glass about a week now- been fine up until today where several things have happened:
Watching footy on Prime;
screen froze at least 6 times through one match
picture quality from prime interface was awful
watching match of the day on BBC1 afterwards:
Glass turned off at random intervals from 5 minutes upwards with no warning- happened a lot!
I've read lots of forum posts & replies & have turned off all the automated/ sensor functions yet it's just turned off again.
I then speed tested my tv network connection which came back as 8mbps (just had sky super fast boost installed where we're supposed to get 35mbps), I'm guessing this isn't helping but I notice a lot on this thread having the same trouble with great network connection- don't want to go down the mesh route if it's not going to fix the issue!
long call to sky in the morning I think- shame because I like the tv, the playlist function is nonsense but aside from that I like it.

I used my sky glass tv for a while and no issues with the tv. All well at my end. Try a reset and upgrade , hope it helps.

Think the updates are working. Our glass is working much better, haven't had to reboot for days. We did disable the microphone as this was causing issues and seemed to think we were giving instructions when we weren't. ........ middle of film at the crucial moment, sound would be eliminated and Glass would say it didn't understand ....so would recommend disabling for now.
Still experiencing mega issues with all our Puks - taking forever to start and then often saying no internet even though going into settings and confirming connection.
Can I suggest, Sky have a speed check screen on both the Glass and it's Puks. That way, everyone can confirm the actual speed of the Wi-Fi or Ethernet available to each device.
I do think Sky are improving everyday with software and hardware updates.
Next need to sort playlist out so we can delete all the stuff we've not even assigned to playlist, plus stuff we put there by mistake.....also, I would say the look and feel of the interface needs work. Too easy to select things you don't want etc etc.
sure, in time, this will be the future of tv.

Does the Disney+ app support imax on Glass?

Sorry, no idea

We renewed our bb too recently not got new router 😳😓 but since had last few updates the glass seems lot better. What router did you get ? @Steveben1953 Do you have any pictures of it ? How old was your old sky router ? Ours is only 1 year or so old don't know if there is newer one ?

So, bit of an update. My Sky glass freezing problems are down to my broadband- even though I've got super fast broadband I'm limited by the exchange in town- the night the tv developed all its issues I was downloading all my photos off my phone & it clearly reduced my available bandwidth- since then it's been fine.
turning off the automated settings has stopped the random turning off goo so thanks to all who posted on that subject
Hopefully it's all good now, if sky's upcoming updates deal with the playlist issues & at some point give us different users so playlists can be split up so you only have what YOU want to watch on your playlist then all will be fine for me.

We've had our Glass 55" TV for some two months and have had various problems. Today, 3 January I called Sky Glass and have now reverted back to Sky Q, feel far happier now. The TV is fantastic and the sound quality is top-notch yet the the Sky Glass is not fit for purpose.
Really pleased with response from Sky in resolving the situation and full marks to Sky Support Team

I am on my second sky glass tv and am having similar issues, picture freezing, loss of sound or both together and occasionally the tv just shutting down.
Recently I was dining with a highly respected scientist and inventor who is a leading authority on lasers as well as other complex engineering solutions. So I asked him if he knew the problem Inwas having with my tv and he said the problem was quite simple in that the bandwidth was insufficient to stream all the data. He explained that both Amazon and Google had invested billions in ensuring their systems did not suffer in this respect and he had no doubt that Sky would eventually catch up in this respect but I had to put up with it in the meantime.
It would appear analogous to Amazon and Google having access to a 10 Lane highway while Sky was still using a dual carriageway to stream data.
It would be interesting to hear comments from Sky engineers on this diagnosis of the streaming problems with Sky Glass.

I suspect your well respected friend should look in to Content Delivery Networks.
Amazon and Google also rely on CDNs to do the heavy lifting most of the time, people like Akamai, Cloudlfare etc who run more than you think on the internet.
The bottleneck is almost always your home broadband and not the backbone.
