Re: Many problems with Sky glass

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@Junnie2 Am i right in thinking you had an engineer come and setup the system initially for a fee?

If so, was the system solid before you had to have a replacement?

I help out where I can in the Sky Glass forum, maybe a superuser but not a sky employee.

Sky glass 55”Anthracite - Stand mounted - Ethernet

Virgin media broadband 350mbps
Sky mobile - iPad and iPhone 13 pro max
Plenty of Apple tech

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

Thanks very much for the support.

Unfortunately - it was an engineer or so-called one on the phone - going from one to another for assistance whilst I was on the phone.

I paid £99 to sky to come out and set up the first one that was rubbish and had to be replaced with this other one that is causing so much problem again....

I am requesting this money back as well ....

I find so much better assistance from this site than sky so-called engineers

Here typing and watching Sky news ......and here it's all frozen again......

Once again - very many thanks to all that are assisting me.

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

Yes, we are suffering the same issues. We have two Pucks that are regularly having the same problems. With one Puck, when selecting channels 101 (BBC One) or 103 (ITV) no picture appears, but just a message "To access this channel you need to upgrade your subscription) ?????. I have to keep rebooting the Pucks.

If I knew these problems existed with Sky Glass, I would never have got rid of the Sky Q box.

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

We are exactly the same.......PUKS are beyond useless...we have 4 of them and they all need re-booting at least once a day.  Often saying they have lost wifi.....impossible as we have Peloton treadmill and Peloton bike, both streaming hi-def and NEVER EVER losing connection, never ever freezing, never ever losing sync......We have 1gig of broadband and our wifi delivering at least 500mbps into every room............The Sky Glass itself is so slow, so wrong !  So many issues.  Even picture quality is not ideal ???  Sky have massive issues and won't admit it.  So, we had a Panther delivery booked to replace our GLASS and the driver told me they are collecting Sky Glass everyday from very, very unhappy customers, accordingly probably more than 50,000 glass TV's  have been replaced and he also told me the replaced screens are not new, they are refurbished.,  Unacceptable.

To be fair, Sky team have admitted there are both firmware and software issues but how did they think they could l;aunch something that is so wrong ??? So untested, so dreaful ????

We all know the playlist is wrong too, in that you cant delete anything, even programming you didnt put into your playlist.

NOT GOOD !!

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

Well, I finally rang sky as I got fed up with the issues I had with Glass. The return was hassel free and I got my Q contract even cheaper than previous! Woman on the phone was super helpful, took a bunch of recommendations on how I felt Glass could be better and was all done in less that 10 minutes. The only thing more annoying than Glass was trying to get through person rather than getting sent a text message to look on forums

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

Well I haven't looked back since I got my Wi-Fi mesh system. I'd advise people to go down this route solved most of my issues

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

We have a mesh Wi-Fi and a serious Ethernet network, but nothing seems to deal with the problems built into the sky Glass firmware & software

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

Myn was bad at first on everything now as long as I only watch the TV part of it or you tube. its OK now but try and watch prime Netflix or like stream set in the city on sky comedy for example it's goes into a technical fault and nothing at all on glass works without a plug out the wall job.

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

Why are they giving people replacement glass I'd re fuse that. it's not the glass at fault it's all glass

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

The previous tv was giving problems after their visit - and the new one is giving just as much problem.

I would personally like to know the number of subscribers that have brought this sky glass tv - and are 💯 percent happy - those that returned their - and had replacement and how are their replacement?

Many thanks.

Re: Many problems with Sky glass

Thank you so much - I thought it was me with these pucks-   You have to keep getting out of bed to reboot them - if they work !

Tv and these are just not acceptable.
