Agreed, but thats an issue with programming (F1) and it might even be to do with copyright holders and access give by the broadcaster to Sky. As you can tell, Im ex TV / Media person so understand all of those issues too.. My message above was to do with Sky Gass and the tecxhnology, which is now, not far from being seriously good.

I just had an issue with mine a minute ago, in the middle of watching a movie, screen goes grey and then there's crackling noises as if the tv is going to blow up. Had to switch it off at the mains

Scary ! Have you attempted a reboot / restart ?

Hi I have had problems with Sky Glass from the start the main issue I have the channel freezes and then it's says there is no Wi-Fi connection but there is but then have to switch on and off at the plug, this happens many times a day and since Tuesday when I turn to channel 4 it is stuck there and cannot move channels up and down I have to press the homepage and choose another channel. I wish I kept Sky Q

For 7 months I tried every recommendation, every trick, every reset, every upgrade and nothing worked. I sent the TV back and cancelled all my services in the end, just out of shear frustration. I heartily recommend you do the same. Ask to be referred to the Sky Executive team and they should help. I remain utterly baffled why they still sell this product knowing it is flawed!
It looks like the stand alone puck will be the way forward, but if it has the same bandwidth issues as Glass it will be doomed. Wait for it to be offered free to Sky Glass owners (to mitigate the Sky Glass problems) in parallel with a new marketing strategy. Personally I wouldn't touch it for at least a year...and then probably not!

Yes, had those problems originally. Make sure your Wi-Fi signal is strong enough. There is a way of measuring it, via Netflicks settings on your glass. You need at least 20mbps for Glass to work properly.
Has anyone else notice the lip sync being out, or starting fine and then drifting out ? Maybe only by say 4 frames a second but enough to be aware one you have it pointed out ? If you change channels and then change immediately back resolves issue for a few minutes, then the lip sync drifts out again. Very noticeable on news programmes.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Neilferret lip sync can drift on some streams it appears to be related to the broadcaster. The BBC were quite bad recently but it got sorted.

A year on from when we made the fated decision to opt for a Glass 55" System. The Glass TV is still working wellish, have to occasionally power off/on because the system will not start or open an HDMI hardware. Unfortunately there is no BLUETOOTH to connect headphones, a USB port/s, yet the price of the Glass TV is great in comparison with other TV. Our Sky box works well with the Glass TV and sound sync with the Amazon Fire Stick can be frustrating, at times
I'd not recommend this System to anyone and Sky still advertise that you need a 10mb connection....40mb is the minimum needed (as recommended by Sky Glass, see previous comments on this thread)

Sky glass is an absolute crock, im now waiting to have my third replacement TV in a year....problem after problem...skyglass was released way to early, not enough development time....absolute **bleep**e.....

Give it time...you'll see....

Yup, the more time I gave it the more I realised just how awful and unfit for purpose it was. Are you really suggesting that people pay month after month in the hope that it might get better. Here's a novel idea, how about Sky sells products that work!

Received my new 65 inch glass tv yesterday. I stupidly accepted the tv even though I suspected it wasn't a brand new device. On further inspection I saw the tv was a bit grubby and then discovered the remote also had signs of use. The real deal breaker came when I realised that my listening aid for hearing the tv had nowhere to plug in and there was also nowhere to plug in even a head set. Rang sky today and they confirmed that they sometimes send out reconditioned tvs!! I'm disgusted with sky. I also got through to the technical department who were actually very nice but couldn't resolve the problem for hearing impaired people. There last word on it was "sky glass isn't for you".
so for anyone who wears hearing aids and rely on listening equipment stay clear of sky glass. I'm actually gobsmacked that in 2022 a big company like sky have made a product that isn't accessible for my disability ☹️

Glass televisions have always had eARC on HDMI#2 which can be adapted for analogue or digital audio output to wired devices using third party hardware, and wireless audio by daisy-chaining an additional device. The Glass firmware has just been updated (a year after launch) to add native Bluetooth audio-out: the absence of optical audio or analogue output from the set was presumably a somewhat shortsighted design choice then made unacceptable by the absence of Bluetooth audio support on release.

Hi all
I was wondering if it was just me and then found out probably not, One of the first Glass buyers and a year in still having issues.
My boardband is rural, so around 10Mbps generally. Lots of stuttering, especially on live sport (the F1 issue is maddening). Last night was watching England and it was terrible. Then wondered if switching to iPLayer would help and in UHD it was perfect.
So is this an issue with Glass servers? If iPlayer works then I don't know what else it could be. Like others really wish there was a way to record as the Playlist is just a dire way to find your usual stuff.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more10mbs is probably not enough to run a glass set comfortably especially if you have any other device connected to your internet
I'm very surprised sky did not point this out to you on purchase - if you call them and advise the issue they may allow you to return the unit
