I joined sky when I moved recently, had broadband, telephone and a sky box, I didn't want a sky package but now find I can't get my free view channels unless I pay, can you tel me why, as I would not have joined sky had I been told this,

You should still have access to freesat via a Sky+ or earlier box (not Sky Q)
*Freeview is the digital TV service supplied via terrestrial aerial

The limited range of channels available through Essentials is listed here:
https://www.sky.com/shop/essentials
As Essentials is based on a Sky+ HD box, it won't work if there's a Sky Q LNB on the satellite dish.
